With the emergence of intelligent building systems and smart facades, kinetic architecture has taken the “coventional by a storm. The Auditorium concept was initiated with a mindset to generate a kinetic facade which could serve a dual purpose-_ to shield the building from south sunlight exposure and to give a dramatic effect, a play of light and shadows, in the building’s interior spaces.

Smart Lighting facade is one of driving features for the development of kinetic architecutre. The facade elements open and close like a morning glory flower to let in the morning sun and sheild from the afternoon sun. Currently operated mechanically, the facade elements have the potential to be upgraded and used along with a light sensitive material which could make them independent. closer view of the element supported on a space frame it spans 42 m distance. over this lightweight OSB board ceiling is used for covering

Taking inspiration from the blooming pattern of morning glory, the key element of the design - the dynamic facade system was designed with the foresight in mind of achieving an independent light sensitive facade with further development in material technology.

The upcoming trend in building typology, “Mixed use buildings , is a challenge for planners alike when projects such as commercial cum residential complex are proposed. These buildings are successful in generating revenue for building’s maintenance but are exceptionally vulnerable in terms of security and compromises segregation of spaces.

No particular layout provided for floors seven and eight owing to the open office configuration, modified and developed as required by the needs of the organisation.
The third floor is similar to the second floor and consists of individual executive offices, each consisting of a dry pantry and a small sitting/waiting area. These office spaces can be divided a and moulded to clients preference by using collapsable folding partition walls. These walls may be made of glass or may be gypsum wallboard finished consisting of rock wool for sound insulation.
Fourth, Fifth, Sixth are office layouts for organisations having its own employee divisons. With layouts as given .

“ Aqua da vida ”
The kitchen design was inspired by Santorini, a tourist place in Greece. Soft and light versions of the colours have been used to make the space feel less confining. To summarise the concept of colour scheme, its called “AQUA de VIDA”. in (pun intended), meaning water of life, symbolising the turquoise coast which gives Santrorini its charm and here in this kitchen is giving some depth to the overall white space. Set in the moulds of indo-islamic architecture, carrying an influence of the victorian era villas and institutions, the Department of Biochemistry is a commendable example of blend of the European and the middle eastern cultures. The building complex is a reflection of the style of architecture used in the buildings of the Aligarh Muslim University. The project aims to document the building and its features, recognise its significance to the institution and analyse the deterioration and give counter measures for its conservation.

Site Analysis
Generation of virtual 3D environment The most striking and the obvious feature of the building which captivates the viewer’s attention, is the presence of distinct levels in the building. The building when viewed from different sides, gives a new experience of the building. The lowest level being the ceiling of the porch, followed by the verandah and the corridors, then the rooms and the highest one being the lecture halls. however, there are even sub-variations in these. The rooms are at two different heights. The lecture hall is divided into two levels, one upto the balcony, the other till the ceiling.

The most striking and the obvious feature of the building which captivates the viewer’s attention, is the presence of distinct levels in the building. The building when viewed from different sides, gives a new experience of the building. The building achieves symmetrical balance throughout. The red of the exposed brick is in perfect visual harmony with the contrasting green of the trees and is complimented by the grey of the roads. The landscaping of the complex was such that the D shaped road in from of it overlooked the Chungi gate. Not only it proposed an open, unconstricted view but it also provided direct connectivity to Minto Circle.

Conditional Assessment involves identification of key keatures of a building and documentation of causes and effects of all detrimental factors to suggest counter measures accordingly. It is essential to study construction practices of that period for conservation of the building into its original form.

Assessing present condition
Identification of features
The deterioration has been due to multiple causes-
The building extends a warm welcome to its visitors through the low heighten front porch proceeded by the building’s entrance. The proportions of the front porch are appealing to the human eye and also, the height is somewhat comparable to the human scale, thus giving a comforting feel to the entrance. Entrance through the front porch is through a semicircular arch of very large span (almost equal to that to the extended portion. The front facade is decorated with equilateral arches (pointed arch) supported on columns of ionic order.

These are used in ceiling at the junction of iron girder and the perpendicular wall.
structurally, minarets are nothing but towered shafts, hollow from inside or consisting of stairs) a minarets, hexagonal in shape with each side decorated by two lancet arches On its two sides are - the smaller one offset inside the larger one. An opening is cut out inside it in the same outline of the arch and a projection is provided outside the opening. This minaret can actually be deďŹ ned on three levels. Two of which are identical as described above. The lowest level however is different. The arches on the lowest level are greater in height and do not have any openings or inner arches. At the top of this minaret is a overhand projection to protect the openings from overhead rain. The top of the hexagonal minaret is a parapet wall and it ends with a dome.

Environmental factors of deterioration. Absence of regular maintenance Maintenance and modifications to equip the building to accommodate new technological advancements. Dis Disregard of conventional methods of restoration/ maintenance to preserve the building. The broken rainwater pipes, water accumulation led to growth of vegetation on the exposed brickwork. Damage was also cause due to efflorescence and any repairs that were carried out were not carried out carefully.
