Bridging the Gap Navigating a five-year age difference between her daughter, Harper, 11, and son Holt, 6, has been tough for Tiffani Thiessen. “What [Harper] can do and wants to do is very different than [Holt],” explains the Saved by the Bell alum, 47. “As your little one gets older, you have to really understand the stages and what their limitations are.” Here, the actress — who shares her two kids with husband Brady Smith — tells Us more about motherhood.
Q: Your daughter will be a teenager before you know it. Are you nervous? I remember wanting independence and wanting to be older than you are, but then still needing support and protection. Two years after starting her family, actress Claire Holt, 33, tells Us that she’s “comfortable” with her post-baby figure. “I’m happy to show where I’m at in my body and my skin stretched out,” says the mom of James, 2, and Elle, 10 months, with hubby Andrew Joblon. “I love what it’s been able to do. I think now I kind of wear it [proudly].”

t was a simple moment caught on camera. On a gorgeous Sunday in L.A., Britney Spears took an afternoon drive with her main squeeze, 27-year-old model Sam Asghari. In a clip Asghari posted on Instagram, Britney can be seen turning up the volume on her car radio as they sing along to her 2001 song, “Lonely.” The outing carried special meaning for fans who’ve been paying close attention to her ongoing conservatorship battle with her father, Jamie. “All I want is… for this to end,” the “Toxic” singer told a judge in an emotional June 23 plea, “and for my boyfriend to be able to drive me in his f**king car.”
After 13 long years under her dad’s control, Britney is fighting back — and telling all about everything she’s endured. “Her life became a living hell,” one source tells Us. “After walking around in a thick fog feeling trapped and numb, she realized she couldn’t stay silent any longer.” According to the source, the 39-year-old has had enough. “Britney snapped,” says the source. “She exhausted all her other options and felt something had to give.”

FINDING HER VOICE For years, Britney was terrified to speak up. “She thought no one would believe her,” shares the insider, “and that she’d face retribution from the people who have power.” The judge’s recent decision, which now allows her to choose her own lawyer “is huge,” the insider continues. “She’s thrilled and feels empowered.” The fans behind the #FreeBritney movement (see box) have been instrumental. Adds the insider, “She’s fighting back now because she feels supported for the first time.” Sadly, the “Sometimes” singer’s relationship with her family members remains fractured. “It’s hard to see Britney and her dad ever getting back on good terms after everything she’s said,” notes the source, who adds Britney and her mom, Lynne, have a “complicated” relationship as well. “They generally get along, but Britney wishes Lynne would stick up for her more publicly.”
FUTURE PLANS Asghari hasn’t left Britney’s side since they started dating nearly five years ago after meeting on the set of her “Slumber Party” video. “Britney trusts Sam implicitly,” says the source, “and cannot wait to build a new life with him once this nightmare is finally over.” And it seems like it could be happening sooner rather than later. While driving with Asghari on July 18, Britney was spotted at a local Starbucks drive-thru flashing what appeared to be a giant ring on her engagement finger. “Britney and Sam want to get married and have a baby,” says the insider, “and for the first time that’s looking like a real possibility.”

Decked out in a blue threepiece suit and aviator sunglasses, the actor flashed his megawatt smile as he waved to an adoring crowd of spectators and gamely posed for (socially distant!) selfies. It’s a more accessible Cruise than fans have seen in a long time. The 59-year-old’s been keeping a low profile in recent years after an onslaught of bad press over everything from his high-profile 2012 divorce from Katie Holmes to his allegiance to the controversial Church of Scientology and his December 2020 meltdown on the M:I 7 set over an alleged breach of Covid-19 protocol. (He made headlines again in April following another on-set rant over noisy tree branches that were banging on his trailer’s roof.) US Paging Dr. Death the camera, but you’ve never seen Joshua Jackson like this before n 2018, the Dr. Death podcast took the world by storm, sharing the horrifying story of neurosurgeon Dr. Christopher Duntsch, who ultimately was sentenced to life in prison after killing multiple patients. Now, Joshua Jackson is portraying the twisted doctor in Peacock’s new series of the same name — and he tells Us it was no easy task. “It wasn’t until we finished [filming] that I realized how heavy it actually had been,” says the veteran actor. “I was deluding myself about how capable I was to leave it at the office. It’s incredibly dark.” BECOMING DR. DEATH The toughest part for Jackson wasn’t playing the villain. Instead, it was finding the human in Duntsch. “My initial reaction was to just stand in judgment of him — the evil and the pain that he caused to so many people,” says Jackson. “It’s much more complicated to admit that he was a deeply, fundamentally flawed human being.” While he enjoyed making the series, the Dawson’s Creek alum hints that more exciting projects may be on the way. “I’m at the age now where the best roles for men are,” he says. “I’m finally getting to work on things that I’m really passionate about.”
