Self Help Africa is supporting three local community based organisations - Mfumbeni Development Association (MDA) in Chipata, Big Heart Foundation (BHF) in Chikankata and Nascent Solutions Zambia (NSZ) in Mpika to network, share information and experience, to heighten awareness and champion environmental management and in the region. The ELC4EM initiative involves the partners implementing three stand-alone pilot projects in Chipata, Mazbuka and Mpika respectively. The three pilot projects are the Mfumbeni Functional Wetlands Project focusing on water and natural resources conservation; the Re-forestation and Food Security project focusing on protection of natural resources and sustainable agriculture; and the One Woman 4 Trees project focusing on sustainable forest management.
