A lot of multinational corporations use Google Analytics software because of its effectiveness and reliability. After you have identi ed the IP address, you need to log into your Google Analytics account and select the account that you wish to block the unwanted data. Under the account menu, select the Admin button and click on the admin link. After the Admin link has opened, select on the lters section and choose the All lters option.

This should be followed by the selection of the new lter option followed by the add lter selection. After you have selected the add lter option, it is required that you create a name for the lter. The name of the lter can be any, for instance, you can choose to name it Home traf c or Work traf c. After the naming of the lter, you should click on the exclude button.

Selecting the exclude option ensures that you do not block useful data but only rogue data that is not required in the reporting data. The excluding option is then followed by selecting "traf c from the IP address." The next step is to select the "that are equal to" option which should be followed by keying in the IP address that was generated in the rst step. After this has been done, you need to highlight the "All website" option and then click on the "Add button." The nal step is to select the save button.

After the above procedure has been followed, internal traf c will be blocked from being displayed in your Google analytic account. This means that when you access your website, there will be no recording of your own internal traf c.
