At Cromwell Hospital, we understand that getting rapid access to quality cancer care has never been so important.

With current statistics reporting that one in two people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, it is an illness that will touch nearly every family personally. However, with an early diagnosis and fast access to a tailored treatment plan, there is a very good chance of beating cancer.

As we know that time to treatment heavily infl uences patient outcomes, we’ve set up rapid access patient pathways at the hospital, enabling patients to see a consultant, undergo the necessary tests and receive a diagnosis in the shortest possible timeframe.

For many of our patients, we are able to o er same or next-day appointments with expert consultants, while tests – such as MRI scans and mammograms – can be carried out on the same day as part of that consultation, with all diagnostics taking place under the same roof. These are our rapid access diagnostic pathways for certain cancer types:

Forming a multidisciplinary team, members from each of these clinical disciplines meet regularly to discuss patient cases. As part of these meetings, they review test results and work together to jointly devise a tailored

treatment plan that best meets a patient’s personal and clinical needs. Evidence shows that this collaborative working contributes to better patient outcomes and an improved patient experience.

Our rapid access cancer pathways also enable us to offer a fast, seamless route through from diagnosis to treatment. We offer the latest in cancer treatments, including genetic testing, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, chemotherapy, and world-leading radiotherapy at the GenesisCare Centre for Radiotherapy at Cromwell Hospital.
