Pancreatic cancer
What are the treatment options for locally advanced pancreatic cancer? Locally advanced pancreatic cancer is unresectable and is usually treated with chemotherapy.
Chemotherapy The usual treatment for locally advanced pancreatic cancer is gemcitabine (Ducreux et al., 2015). Other treatments might be offered in clinical trials (see section ‘Clinical trials’ for more information).
Chemoradiotherapy Chemoradiotherapy may be offered to some patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer, but this is less common in Europe (Ducreux et al., 2015).
