SENECA HICKORY STICK NAMED TO GOLF MAGAZINE’S “BEST COURSES NEAR YOU” Course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. ranked No.12 in New York LEWISTON, N.Y. – Seneca Hickory Stick Golf Course has achieved national recognition once again, this time as one of the best courses in New York State. The September issue of Golf magazine ranked the “Top 100 Golf Courses You Can Play” and in doing so, also released its biennial list of the “Best Courses Near You.” Seneca Hickory Stick makes the list as No. 12 in New York State. A Panel comprised of PGA section directors, regional golf association directors, golf writers and other members of the golf community voted on Golf magazine’s “Top 100 Golf Courses You Can Play” from a list of more than 400 daily-fee, resort, and semi-private courses. Members of the public who had played more than 20 courses on the list were also invited to vote through the magazine’s web site GOLFONLINE.com. The 257 acres of challenging terrain includes picturesque Scottish-looking heather grass that accentuates fairways and greenside bunkers, as well as five sets of tee boxes that provide golfers a choice in length and difficulty from 5,395 to 7,026 yards. Seneca Hickory Stick is open to the public but has the feel of a private club, with “member for a day” service levels and pricing that includes golf cars, greens fees and use of the practice facility prior to play. “This is another testament to the high quality guest experience and ‘Tour’ quality turf conditions that Seneca Hickory Stick provides to its golfers on a daily basis,” says Fran Roach, PGA General Manager of Seneca Hickory Stick Golf Course.
