SENECA NIAGARA POKER ROOM HOSTS ‘WESTERN NEW YORK POKER CHAMPIONSHIP’ AT SENECA NIAGARA CASINO NIAGARA FALLS, NY – All eyes will be on more than $200,000 in guaranteed prize money as the “Western New York Poker Championship” – the first-ever televised poker event in Western New York – takes place inside the Seneca Niagara Poker Room at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel from Feb. 14 to 19. The excitement comes to Niagara Falls courtesy of the national DeepStacks Poker Tour, whose team of players – including legends Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi and Mike “The Mouth” Matusow – will play in all events and also lead a three-hour poker camp for approximately 100 players on Thursday, Feb. 16, starting at 10 a.m. The camp includes instruction on advanced betting techniques, reading bluffs and bankroll management. Space is limited, and the cost to attend is $500. The three-day headline $200,000 tournament begins Friday, Feb. 17, at noon, and will be televised in late March (date to be announced) on WUTV Fox Channel 29 (Buffalo). The taping will include matches from the final table, which will take place inside the 440-seat stadium-style Bear’s Den Showroom at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel. Each poker tournament throughout the week is limited to 400 participants and features a no-limit Texas hold ‘em format with an ante—little blind—big blind structure. Blind amounts will increase at the start of each new round. The full schedule of tournaments, round times, entry fees and prize pools during Seneca Niagara Poker Room’s “Western New York Poker Championship” is as follows: Tuesday, Feb. 14, 7 p.m.: Couples-only tournament, 15-minute rounds, $100 + $35 to enter. Wednesday, Feb. 15, noon: 30-minute rounds, $100 + $35 to enter. Thursday, Feb. 16, 3 p.m.: 40-minute rounds, $300 + $50 to enter.


Friday, Feb. 17*, noon: 50-minute rounds, $1,350 + $150 to enter, $200,000 guaranteed prize pool, *resumes Saturday, Feb. 18, and Sunday, Feb. 19, at 2 p.m. each day Saturday, Feb. 18, 2 p.m.: Second-chance tournament, 30-minute rounds, $200 + $40 to enter.
