GREETINGS!
With only three months remaining in 2019 and our sights set on 2020, the SenesTech team is energized by a clear vision of what’s to come. We are acutely focused on our goals to drive acceptance of our game changing technology and our commitment to Sound Science and we are finishing out this year strong with some exciting news and updates to share. In this newsletter we detail some team wins, industry updates, and upcoming events we’re looking forward to attending. Featured among them is PestWorld, the largest pest management industry event in the world, which hosts key voices and decision-makers, all of whom our team is eager to connect with. Event attendees will travel to San Diego, California, from October 15-18 talking about our unique approach to pest control, pursuing critical collaborations and learning more about the latest industry advancements. Speaking of advancements, be sure to read the exciting news from our sales team, detailing the success of ContraPest at an Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) accredited zoo. Facilities like zoos, animal sanctuaries and refuges are considered sensitive given the number of food sources and non-target species on site. Our latest case study evidences the potential to seamlessly — and successfully — integrate ContraPest into any existing integrated pest management (IPM) program. We’re delighted to share these results! In the near future we will share our fast growing efforts in organic agriculture. Like zoos and sanctuaries, these farms and facilities are focused on more sustainable and effective solutions to age old problems. Other highlights of this newsletter include company recognition for manufacturing sustainability, details about our new product development process, an explanation of updated Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) worker training and safety initiatives, as well as our regularly scheduled Preferred Partner and employee spotlights. Join me in celebrating the continued success of SenesTech and stay tuned as we share more exciting developments in the new year! Thank you! Sincerely,

Scoping out the Sales Scene COURTNEY RAY – DIRECTOR OF TECHNICAL SERVICES & NATIONAL ACCOUNTS SenesTech’s Director of Technical Services & National Accounts, Courtney Ray, is delighted to celebrate the success of ContraPest in an AZA accredited zoo. Located in the Western US, this particular zoo hosts more than 3,000 animals, representatives of approximately 400 species.
Despite implementing multiple controls, like traditional traps and second-generation anticoagulant rodenticides (SGARs), rats continued to plague the zoo, presenting seasonal spikes in the fall and spring. Given the abundant feeding options at any zoo, between animal feed, human food waste, and trash, combatting rat infestations in these environments proves particularly challenging. Integrating non-lethal ContraPest, without risk to non-target species on site, decreased the roof rat population at this facility in only six months following initial baiting. This particular case study proves that ContraPest is an ideal addition to your IPM program in sensitive facilities like animal sanctuaries and rescues. Just the latest chapter in another SenesTech-supported happy ending for our customers. The results of the deployment of ContraPest® data indicates a more stable rat population since the start of the trial with the implementation of ContraPest. Fertility control, in the form of a liquid contraceptive, helps reduce population rebounds after drops in numbers from lethal campaigns by successful breeding of survivors, thus showing less spikes over time.

Updated EPA Safety and Training Initiatives Support ContraPest CHARMONTE WATKINS – DIRECTOR OF REGULATORY AFFAIRS
The latest regulatory news concerns an updated focus of the EPA: worker safety and training. Following the August 2019 launch of the National Farmworker Training Program, the EPA is soliciting applications in support of these core initiatives: • Work with farmworker support organizations, growers, crew leaders, and agricultural extension professionals • Help ensure the safe use of pesticides by focusing on prevention and reducing exposure to pesticides • Enhance safe working conditions for agricultural workers at the local, state and national levels • Promote environmental justice for low-income, low-literacy, and predominantly non-English speaking farmworkers When it comes to ContraPest, this new EPA initiative is critical. As agricultural workers are an emerging market for our sales, addressing worker training supporting the proper deployment of our product, which in turn ensures worker safety, yielding optimal product results overall. In addition to this new training target, the EPA has also released an update to the Recognition and Management of Pesticide Poisonings: 6th Edition manual. This text provides healthcare professionals with a quick resource for the best toxicology and treatment information for patients who have been exposed to pesticides. The updated manual advises healthcare practitioners on how to: • Conduct environmental and occupational exposure screening on patients • Report of exposure incidents • Find a wealth of available pesticide information resources Chapter 18 is specific to rodenticides, which are the #3 source of pesticide poisonings as reported to Poison Control Centers with more than 10,000 cases due to anticoagulant poisoning. Given that pesticide/rodenticide poisoning is a significant medical issue, particularly for workers and children, non-lethal ContraPest provides a safer alternative, composed of 99.9% inert, GRAS ingredients. Simply put, the toxicity in ContraPest is based on the size of the animal ingesting it and the concentrations in the product are based on the sizes of rats. In addition, ContraPest exposure or non-target ingestion risk is minimal, due to bait station design and proper deployment by trained professionals

Perfecting the Product with a Precise Process SHARON DINGES – PRODUCT MANAGER Effective product development and updates depend on customer feedback, but also a company’s willingness to listen and respond accordingly. SenesTech does more than just listen and learn, we take action. At SenesTech, we know that the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) needs for each customer are unique. SenesTech’s current form of ContraPest® provides solutions for customers with rat-control concerns. Certain rat populations have developed foraging preferences based on their environment. These foraging preferences can make it challenging to overcome bait-shyness with industry-standard dispensing methods.
THE SENESTECH SOLUTION? It’s all in the implementation of our new product development process. We realize that knowing how to get to your destination is half the battle when it comes to precise product development. To that end, we’ve drawn and refined our ContraPest® product roadmap to deliver the right solutions in a timely manner, directed at specific customer concerns and diverse markets.
But, why does SenesTech require a Product Road Map and codified Product Development Process? Two reasons: product efficacy and safety, as defined by SenesTech and EPA standards. These high standards demand a plan, which takes time — months or even years — in order to move a pest control product through the EPA regulatory process.
Why the hold up? The regulatory process wouldn’t exist without data collection, number crunching, written reports, and EPA applications, submitted both to the agency and to each state. This all takes time.

Attendees spend a day in training, networking, and visiting booths to learn more about the latest products on the market place. 11/13/2019 / 2:00pm EST – Rats and Bait, Why the Mystery | PCT Webinar Rat behavior is often a mystery that people do not fully understand. These creatures make their homes in some of the most unspeakable locations, with many food sources to supply a small army. Rats change their behavior based upon their experiences and the conditions they are living under. Rats are extremely neophobic and tend to demonstrate aversion to both bait and traps over time. Rats need at least 10% of their body weight in liquid; therefore, studies have shown that rats have minimal to no effects of bait aversion and actually consume in the presence of other foraging materials. Listen to Brandy Pyzyna, VP of Technical Services discuss these intriguing animals and their behavior when things change in their environment. 11/17/2019 – Sharon’s Attic Helping the homeless victims of domestic violence heal and gain self-sufficiency – by participating and volunteering within the store.

WHAT’S ON THE COVER? These children are enjoying a visit to an animal sanctuary where ContraPest is working roundthe-clock, behind the scenes to reduce rat populations. Sensitive facilities like zoos, animal sanctuaries, and refuges present unique challenges when it comes to controlling rat infestations. The abundance of food sources – from animal feed, human food waste, and trash – attracts rats in alarming numbers, which is often further complicated by seasonal spikes during the fall and spring seasons. Traditional resources, like SGARS and traps, ultimately prove ineffective and rats remain a pervasive issue for these facilities. Integrating ContraPest changes the game by providing a non-lethal alternative that reduces rat populations without risking the health of non-target species on site. It’s just another example of Sound Science delivering a strategic solution.
