Ayleen Alanis
“My name is Ayleen Alanis and I enjoy being around friends and family that support what I do in the design field. Photography is a must in whatever I do as a way to express different perspectives the eye can’t see. I enjoy black and white alot along with minimalistic designs followed by nature and cloudy days!”
Jose L. Barrera
“Hello, my name is Joey Barrera and I have a huge passion for graphic design and media in general. Spending the past few years learning and growing in design has been a fun experience and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the future of design!”
David Becerra
A basic design is always functional, but a great one will say something. Visuals have always been a part of my life and a way of expression. Creation is one of the most valuable things in my life, being able to create something and call it your own is a feeling like not many people can be able to experience it. I get inspirations from the people I love from God from a random thing on the street and from the moon. I could get inspired by anything, because I am a big believer in self-control using my way of thinking and my culture. My mentality has may branches but one of them I use when I am designing is, “I have no limitations” and “less is more”. With this I am able to crate genuine art using all the skills I possess.
Laura Becerra
“Hello my name is Laura Becerra. I am a fan of all
Research suggests that music can benefit our physical and mental health in numerous ways.
things nerdy and quirky. I find inspiration within things such as art, music, and interior design.” Strengthens Memory Research has shown that the repetitive elements of rhythm and melody help our brains form that enhance memory. Music activates many parts of the brain, including the hippocampus, which processes memories. In a study of stroke survivors, listening to music helped them experience more verbal memory, less confusion, and better focused attention.
Lowers Stress and Improves Health Research has shown that blood flows more easily when music is played. It can also reduce heart rate, lower blood pressure, decrease cortisol (stress hormone) levels and increase serotonin and endorphin levels in the blood.
Makes You Happier Listening to music increases the brain’s production of the hormone dopamine (a mood-enhancing chemical). The increase of dopamine helps relieve feelings of anxiety and depression.
Improves Creativity and Connectivity Studies found that upbeat and happy tunes can encourage creative, and innovative thinking. Other research used MRIs to see how participants’ brains reacted to music they especially liked. Those experiments saw that peoples’ brains lit up more in response to their favorite tracks. Scientists discovered that listening to your favorite music makes a huge difference in how your brain responds.
Improves Sleep A study showed that listening to classical or relaxing music within an hour of going to bed significantly improves sleep. The music triggers changes to the body that in many ways mimic a sleep state. A slower heart rate, slower breathing, and lower blood pressure are all physiological changes that make possible the process of falling asleep and staying asleep.
Reduces Pain Listening to music triggers the release of opioids in the brain, the body’s natural pain relievers. Music can also reduce the perceived intensity of pain, especially in geriatric care, intensive care, or palliative medicine (an area of healthcare that focuses on preventing and relieving the suffering of patients).
Vivian Berlanga
My name is Vivian Berlanga and as a child, my parents introduced me to animated films that inspired me while I grew up. It seems my direction in art leans towards paying a homage to my inspirations. To me, art should inspire our societies while introducing new perspectives. Artists have a responsibility to extract intangible objects from our imagination and show others a new form of expression, instead of relying on what is shown to us. Through design or illustration, we bring ideas or stories into fruition, and thus further beautify our surroundings with new ideas.
Sabrina De La Rosa
Growing up in a rural environment, she had a lot of time to think to herself and imagine the impossible. Communicating with someone who doesn’t understand through words but instead through vision and picture is something she learned to practice in an isolated environment. Her love for animals and nature is an element she bonds with the most in her art pieces. Experiencing a closeconnection with animals and nature issomething that drew her to creating art with pencils and simple paper.

Levi Dominguez
“Aye! I’m Levi, and I like instilling photos into most of my work along with other graphic elements. My methods usually include having some music for inspiration and trying to make a narrative in my head of what it makes me feel and how I would see it in a picture. I find myself constantly visualizing frames from my surroundings, taking note of the details, and connecting with the moment in a daydream type of way
Alejandro Flores
“Hello, my name is Alejandro Flores, also a walking music box once you get to know me. Illustration and photography is one of my top passions, as well as animating. I like to pass my time surrounding myself with inspirations left and right. When I’m not designing, music is the next best thing. I hope to make something out of myself in the near future, where I can design for a living and music for the soul.”

Juan Sanchez
“My work is the process of translating thoughts and ideas through a visual message. I take inspiration from the work of designers such as Lance Wyman and Shigeo Fukuda, who appealed to the world’s shared humanity and used universal imagery to break through language and cultural barriers. This purpose is what I find most exciting about graphic design. Designing and building websites allows me the ability to create work for myself and others. It is directly interconnected with the user. By combining photography and illustration digitally, I can shape the conversation as I explore and propose solutions to problems. I strive to find a balance between my vision and the user’s ideas. Ultimately, I create work that must work.”

You’ll most likely find me with a cup of coffee in one hand and my laptop in the other. I have the golden rule deeply rooted within me, partnered with strong opinions and a willingness and desire to grow. My hope is that my design capabilites go beyind a paper, to influence people to an action, whether it be listening to a record, reading a book, or drink a coffee.”
Nayelli Valdemar
“Hey everyone my name is Nayelli but I go by Nelly. Art has always been a passion of mine. Many don’t see design as art, but i believe it to be an extension of it. I aspire to grow as both, a designer and artist in the years to come.”

AXIOM STATEMENT Design is typically based off of self-expression, usually in the way that an individual creates a personal perspective of the world. To us, this is where Axiom becomes a key connection that drives us to showcase the truth within a topic. The definition of Axiom, is something established, accepted, or self-evidently true. Yet to us Axiom is not only evidently true, but it is our truth. Truth is a difficult topic in itself due to the problems that arise such as indistinctions or manipulations of truths. However, as designers we create that separation to share a specific message by demonstrating that truth within our artwork. Ultimately, what it means to us to be designers is not just creating unique pieces of art, but we want to share our messages with the world, each a unique perspective that can help show what we want to be within the world and how we are going to get there to bring forth change.
