Birding Guide
The Ritch Grissom Memorial Wetlands at Viera consists of four shallow, man-made marshes surrounding a deep lake, with earthen berms that allow visitors access throughout the site. Pedestrians, vehicles, and bicyclists share the berm road, so please drive carefully. The function of the wetlands is to polish reclaimed water from the adjacent treatment plant. They were named in memory of Ritch Grissom, a longtime employee of Brevard County, who worked at the facility. For recent wildlife sightings, upcoming events, and current hours of operation, please visit the volunteer website: FriendsOfViera.org. Additional information is available at the official Brevard County website: GrissomWetlands.org. South Central Regional Wastewater System 10001 Wickham Road, Melbourne, Fl 32940
