Modern smartphones can quickly be set up to send an emergency signal when needed. For example, you can set up most Android phones to send a signal when you press the side power button several times in quick succession. Your phone will then automatically message your emergency contacts, telling them where you are and that you’re in trouble!
Here’s how to set up an emergency SOS on your phone:
1. Find your phone’s Settings. 2. Search for ‘SOS’ - your’s may not be in the exact location as shown in the picture. 3. Turn this setting on. 4. Choose your emergency contacts.
Don’t forget to tell them about it! 5. Decide what the SOS will send.
Most phones give options including an SOS message with your location, photos, an audio clip, or even a call history.
Not all phones are the same, so you may need to Google your make and model. If you’re unsure about the details, you can usually find them in your Settings, under About Phone (or something similar).
