NON-MEDICAL HOME CARE – Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s), homemaking, companionship and other nonmedical in home care. These services are available for hire after, or in conjunction with Medicare certified services. Private payment, Medicaid and Veterans Benefits are a few of the ways personal care can be paid for.

PSYCHIATRIC CARE – Refers to the agencies’ ability to offer services related to psychiatric support with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of mental illness. Services may include counseling or administering of medications.

SOCIAL WORKER – A clinical social worker whose purpose in health care is to enhance, promote, maintain, and restore the best possible social abilities of the patient or family. Services provided may be preventive, developmental, or remedial in nature.

The insurance counseling program called Senior Insurance Assistance is one of these programs. Our trained staff bring more than 30 years of experience in the health insurance field to assist you. Our Senior Insurance Assistance program is also a State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) office, and while the PPACG AAA serves only El Paso, Park and Teller counties, our SHIP program serves those counties as well as Chaffee, Custer, Fremont, Huerfano, Lake and Las Animas counties. We visit those rural areas on a rotating basis, but we are always available to county residents by phone toll-free at 888-696-7213. Our staff and volunteers are trained in the most current insurance information by the Colorado Division of Insurance. We do not sell any insurance, only give free guidance and support to those receiving Medicare benefits or to those who soon will be. Our staff is here to help you understand Medicare and your health insurance plan so you will feel secure in your health insurance choices. We will help you review and compare insurance plans, including supplemental programs, employer

group health plans, Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage plans and long-term care insurance programs. We will help you review and understand your insurance statement or bill, if you are concerned about proper billing. We can also advise and educate you about other insurance-related programs and how to get the greatest benefit for which you are qualified. Everything Is So Costly, How Can I often hear this from families just We Afford The starting the care service maze. Care We Need? For those families that find that mom and dad, or their spouse needs a little more help, they begin a trip of discovery for affordable care. With many options available, finding the right fit can be overwhelming. Often the decision is influenced by factors such as whether there is a spouse or local family members to help with care, is the home a safe location, and the size of the care budget available. Let’s examine how these factors affect the outcome. Family Care A first consideration is who is available to provide the “free” care we all take for granted. Because chronic care may be associated with advanced age, often the spouse may have issues of their own that may limit the quality of care provided. For a husband who needs a walker and has a history of falls, the spouse may not be strong enough to render help when needed. If the care is from a daughter or son who is just across town or in nearby Denver, the need to be available can be a daily task that may impact their family and career. Home or Community Just as in real estate, care should consider the best location. If the home is a safe place it will likely be the first choice for care, but let’s examine that qualifier; is it safe? For someone who needs help

with meal prep and showering assist, home is where everyone wants to be. For our previous example, the home with stairs can be a formidable obstacle. Add a little dementia and being home alone may not be a suitable environment. Then a community care provider may be a better choice. Managing Costs Now we begin to explore costs and how to pay for the care required. If there is a long term care policy, the policy may have low payout or short duration. For memory issues, the need for care can last 5 years or more. A life insurance policy may be convertible into a care policy. A home may be used for a reverse mortgage to provide funds. If dad was a veteran, the Aid & Attendance Pension may provide funds for care. Finally, Medicaid is the safety net that provides a helping hand when resources are low. To help sort these financial choices it’s best to consult a Care Cost Advisor to create a roadmap to pay for care. Why is a Durable Power Sometimes I am asked what of Attorney planning documents are most Necessary? important, and people are often surprised when I first mention the need for powers of attorney.

A Power of Attorney (POA) is a legal document that appoints a person to act as your “agent” in your absence or when you are unable to act for yourself. Depending upon how the document is drafted your agent can be authorized to make financial and health care decisions for you. Married couples frequently believe their spouse will be able to handle everything on their behalf should a need arise. This is simply not the case. For example, if a married couple owns property together, and one of them is mentally or physically incapacitated, without a proper POA the other spouse would need to be appointed as a guardian for the incapacitated spouse in order to sell the property. This would likewise apply to investment and retirement accounts and other types of property. Another area where a lack of a Power of Attorney can create problems is in healthcare decision making. Do not make the mistake of believing you have the right to make health decisions for your parent or spouse if they are unable to do so. A

Durable Power of Attorney should be in place to deal with these situations or you could end up in court seeking a guardianship order so you can take care of a loved one. Court proceedings can be quite costly in that they involve court filing fees, attorney fees, physician’s fees, and other costs. These can be avoided with some simple planning. When my wife’s mother suffered a stroke we were able to administer her affairs because we had planned in advance. We never had to go to court, and my wife took care of all her mother’s financial and medical needs without ever having to obtain court permission. Moreover, do not be fooled by a “one size fits all” power of attorney. POAs need to be drafted with your specific needs in mind, so do not trust your needs to something that can be pulled off the web. Do I Need A Will Or A Trust? That is one of the most common questions I am asked. The problem is that is the same as asking if you should turn left or right without saying where you are or what your destination is. In fact, those are typically my first two questions in an initial meeting. First: “What is your goal? And second: “Where you are in life and what do you have?” Then we can figure out the best way to get there. The standard estate planning for many years has been a Will. It is tried and true and cost effective. You should start with a Will and move to a trust based plan only if you need to. So when do you need to move to a trust based plan? Correctly drafted and properly funded, a trust will avoid probate. They allow you to give someone else (typically a spouse from a second marriage) permission to live in your house until they pass away and then have the house go to your specified heirs. If you just left the house to the second spouse outright, he or she could leave it to whomever they wish to…which may or may not include your planned heirs. Trusts also allow

much more privacy for the administration of your estate. Finally, if you own property in more than one state, a trust allows you to avoid probate in each state. If you think one attorney is expensive try having two or more, in different states! There is a third option that many don’t know exist: the Will and beneficiary deed. Beneficiary deeds are deeds that act just like beneficiary designations on bank account or on life insurance. Upon your death, instead of going through probate, your beneficiaries just file a death certificate with the county and the property is transferred to your beneficiaries. No lawyers and no waiting. So, if your estate consists of a home in Colorado and some investments and you want everything divided equally between your beneficiaries a Will with a beneficiary deed plan may be right for you…all at a cost of less than half of what a trust would likely cost. ~ Editor’s Note: This article was submitted by Ryan N. As they age, they realize that if either one of them needs Long Term Care, that their property and other assets could be at risk. They need accurate information they can trust so that if Long Term Care needs come on suddenly, or if Long Term Care is some years away, they are prepared and are doing all they can to ensure that their future generations can enjoy this farm and other things they have worked hard for. It is estimated that over 70% of people over 65 will need some type of Long Term Care(LTC) according to the US Department of Health & Human Services. Colorado has many resources for financial help like Health First Colorado, Colorado’s Medicaid Program. Medicaid will help with in home care, assisted living and nursing facility care. Most Colorado elderly who need help paying for LTC feel that they will not qualify for Medicaid because they have too much income or too many assets. In reality, many could qualify if they had the information from a knowledgeable professional, holding a Certified Medicaid Planner (CMP)

designation. The role of a CMP is to assist an applicant file a complete and correct Medicaid application and work with the Department of Human Services to gain approval for LTC Medicaid. The rules around Medicaid eligibility are readily available online. Incomplete or inaccurate advice often causes people to think that spend down is the only way to qualify for LTC Medicaid. This simply is not true and can lead to an unnecessary spend down and/or liquidation of the limited assets people have worked a lifetime to obtain. There are legitimate means of preserving valuable or sentimental assets and income. Here in Colorado, to the surprise of many, the Medicaid guidelines afford numerous opportunities to protect income and assets. Medicare 2018 “In A Nutshell” (Parts A, B & Medigap Plans) Original Medicare is a government health insurance program primarily for people age 65 and older. It has four main parts: A, B, C & D. The chart below is an example of how Parts A & B work together with a traditional Medicare supplement also known as a “Medigap Plan.” Medicare Part A Hospital Insurance

There is an Annual Election Period (AEP) which runs from October 15 - December 7 of each year. This is time to make changes in company or coverage.

Part D can be separate with Medigap & PFFS plans. There is a penalty for late enrollment into Part D.

Balancing Wellness How do you describe wellness? Is it eating salads for one week out of the year; taking a walk in the morning; getting a flu shot? Wellness is more than changing a few habits. “Holistic wellness is about the whole person and not the parts,” according to Dr. Jennifer Hunter, a senior fellow at the National Institute of Complementary Medicine. Wellness is a balancing act of many different components. If a part of ourselves is missing we are not able to be our very best. So how do you become balanced and well? Dr. Bill Hettler, co-founder of the National Wellness Institute, developed what is known as the six dimensions of wellness. These dimensions are emotional, spiritual, intellectual, physical, occupational and social wellness. All of these components are interconnected and work well in synergy with one another. Giving attention to each dimension will help create a balance of wellness. Emotional wellness is being aware and able to manage feelings in a realistic and positive way. Spiritual wellness is connecting or grounding into something greater. Intellectual wellness is engaging in creative activities, seeking opportunities that challenge critical thinking, and expanding understanding.

Physical wellness is keeping your body moving. Spend time each day being physically active; maintaining a healthy diet, and getting plenty of sleep. Occupational wellness is giving back to the world and others in various ways. It is having a purpose for waking up in the morning. Social wellness is the creation of community. Whether you are an introverted or extroverted person everyone needs to have a community. As you can see each dimension of wellness is intertwined. When one part is not receiving as much attention, another part overcompensates. The goal is to have balance in all dimensions of wellness which ties together the beautiful you. Your local senior center or active adults programs are a great place to help strengthen your dimesons of wellness. At Senior Centers’ you will find opportunities to socialize, including meals, clubs, and lifelong learning classes. Senior Centers are a place for one to be well in the later years of life. “Veterans Program, Anyone?” Questions to Ask Any Non-Medical Does your agency utilize an existing VA benefit called Home Care Agency ‘Aid & Attendance’? Some agencies offer help to Veterans but it’s mostly just gathering paperwork necessary for the A&A... and that’s it! Care typically doesn’t start until the VA pays the agency, which can take months with those agencies unfamiliar with the process. If you call an agency and they don’t know anything about the A&A benefit OR they do offer it and/ or it takes longer than 2-4 weeks to START care… move on! Instead, try and find an agency that understands the complexity of the A&A, can start care within 2-4 weeks and has no hidden costs to get started. Do you have experienced VA Accredited Agents within your office to help with this process? Some agencies will outsource this critical step to local Attorneys or Financial Planners that may have accreditation, but the A&A benefit is just one of many products they offer. Find an agency that has VA Accredited Agents on their team that are dedicated and focused only on capturing the A&A benefit and offer no other products or services. Are there any upfront costs to start the process? Again, some agencies work through an Attorney or a

Financial Planner that technically can help you with this process; however, they have creative ways of collecting payment for ‘other services’ so they can get paid up to an estimated $500 or more. Instead, try and find a Veteran-dedicated agency that offers this at NO COST OR RISK for those who apply. There is no reason for you to pay out-of-pocket for these services. How long will it take before I can start care? Most agencies don’t start care immediately simply because they don’t have the funds available to absorb the cost of labor for weeks or even months waiting on the VA to begin payment. So, they will process the paperwork and make you wait until the VA releases the funds. ALZHEIMER’S/DEMENTIA CARE – Non-skilled care provided for clients with memory issues includes but not limited to establishing a routine, reminders for activities for daily living, rerouting if necessary and assistance with sleep issues or ‘sun downing’. By using creativity and caregiving skills, you can adapt routines and activities as needs change. BONDED – Being bonded means that a bonding company has secured money that is available to the consumer in the event they file a claim against the company. HOMEMAKER/COMPANION – Non-medical assistance with meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, errands, activities, outings, companion-ship and other household duties. These agencies are licensed by the state. HOURLY MINIMUM – This refers to the minimum number of hours that an agency provides service. INSURED – This refers to what happens if someone gets hurt on the job. If the company isn’t insured, then the claim gets filed against the homeowner’s insurance. If the company is insured, then the claim gets filed against the company’s insurance.

LICENSURE – A home care agency, whether medical or non-medical, shall be issued a license consistent with the type and extent of services provided. CLASS A – A home care agency that provides any skilled healthcare service. Agencies with a Class A license may also provide personal care services. CLASS B – A home care agency that provides only personal care services. An agency with a Class B license shall not provide any skilled healthcare service. STATE REGISTRATION – The State of Colorado does not license homecare placement agencies. Placement agencies are registered with the state. Registration ensures that placement agencies are adhering to certain minimum standards such as background checks for caregivers and insurance requirements for agencies and caregivers.

The focus is on comfort rather than treatment. HOUR MINIMUM – The least number of hours a Non-Medical Home Care Agency will be available for hire. Medicare certified Home Health Agencies are not on a specified time frame. INTRAVENOUS THERAPY (IV) – Refers to any medical treatments/ medications that need to be introduced into the body via a patient’s veins. Numerous IV Therapies can be provided in a patient’s home under supervision of a MD. Some of these include: inter-infective/ antibiotic therapies, hydration therapy, pain management, chemotherapy and central line care and maintenance. MED-ALERT – Company offers a pendant or home alert system that notifies staff that user is in distress and needs immediate assistance. TRACH CARE – Refers to care administered to patients who

have undergone a tracheotomy. A tracheotomy is a surgical procedure in which a cut or opening is made in the windpipe (trachea). The surgeon inserts a tube into the opening to bypass an obstruction, allowing air to get to the lungs, or remove secretions. WOUND CARE – Refers to services for providing diagnosis and treatment for ulcers, pressure sores and other wounds. Treatments may include but is not limited to irrigations, dressing, and wound vacs. Hospice Care Definitions HOSPICE Hospices provide individuals facing terminal illness with care at home or in a healthcare facility. The goal is to assist patients to live the last stage of their lives with dignity. The focus is on comfort rather than treatment. Services Provided: N-NURSE – Assesses patient’s physical needs, develops and coordinates the plan of care, ensures symptom control and management, provides patient/family teaching as needed SW-SOCIAL WORKER – Assesses patient and family emotional and social needs, develops a plan of care, provides counseling, referrals and support to meet identified needs CHAPLAIN – Assesses patient and family spiritual needs, develops a plan of care, provides counseling, assists with memorial preparations. HOME HEALTH AIDE – Provides direct personal care to patient, emotional support to patient and family, reports identified needs to RN. VOLUNTEER – Provides respite and needed non-medical services for patients and their families, offers support at time of death and during bereavement. Levels of Care: RO-ROUTINE CARE – Occurs when regularly scheduled visits are adequate in maintaining the individu-

al’s symptom management. Care is provided at the individual’s private residence, a retirement community, an assisted living, or a skilled nursing facility. RE-RESPITE CARE – Provided when the family needs time to rest or go out of town for a short time. Care may be provided in a long-term care facility depending on the condition of the individual. Hospice is responsible for financial arrangements with the Long-term care facility. GIP – General In-Patient Care – Provided in a skilled nursing facility when the symptoms cannot be managed elsewhere. The skilled nursing facility must have 24-hour R.N. coverage as deemed by Medicare guidelines. General in-patient care is usually short in duration. This level of care is usually due to symptoms which are out of control and more intensive nursing services are required. If an individual is at a care facility, room and board are covered by hospice during this period. CC-CONTINUOUS CARE – Provided to prevent the individual from going to the hospital when a crisis occurs. It also is given when more help is needed to assist the individual and family in coping with the crisis. This level of care is usually provided at the individual’s residence no matter where that may be. The criteria for continuous care may include: Severe pain or symptoms which are out of

24/7 ADMISSIONS – If a patient qualifies for hospice care, they should be admitted as early as the family requests. Many agencies admit patients to hospice,24/7, evenings weekends, and holidays. AROMATHERAPY – Uses plant materials and aromatic plant oils, including essential oils, and other aromatic compounds for the purpose of altering one’s mood, cognitive, psychological or physical well-being. This is not reimbursed by Medicare. GRIEF SUPPORT GROUPS – Grief is the normal and universal reaction humans have to the loss of those they love. When your loved one passes, you may go through a period of bereavement and experience grief. Many provide Grief Groups that meet and address issues of grief in a supportive group setting. INDIGENT PATIENTS – Does the hospice accept non funded or indigent patients? This is usually on a case by case basis and at

the determination of the hospice company. Many have a non-profit organization that can help support the care of non-covered patients. IN-PATIENT CARE – These hospices offer full hospice services in their on-campus unit or building. The patient moves into the inpatient care facility to receive their hospice services rather than in the patients’ home setting.

Some situations require a pain pump where medications are administered through an IV pump. If this is the situation, inquire with the hospice RN case manager to see if pain pumps are available through their agency. PALLIATIVE CARE – Specialized medical care for people with serious illness. It is focused on providing patients with relief from the symptoms, pain and stress of a serious illness – whatever the prognosis. It is appropriate at any age and at any stage in a serious illness and can be provided along with curative treatment. PCP-OVERSIGHT – Can the hospice patient retain their own primary care physician in addition to the hospice medical director? All hospice organizations require a medical director, a physician to oversee their care. Many times the hospice medical director will work in conjunction

with the patient’s own physician. The patient, family and hospice team can determine which physicians will oversee the care and certify the hospice eligibility criteria. PET THERAPY – There’s nothing like a visit from a four-legged creature to brighten the day of a terminally ill patient. Pet therapy teams visit with patients wherever they reside – at home or in professional care settings. Studies have shown many benefits of pet companionship, ranging from reduced blood pressure and anxiety to relief from boredom, pain and loneliness. This service is not reimbursed by Medicare. VA CONTRACT – If the patient is not a Medicare Recipient and is covered by the VA, the VA will make payments directly to their contracted agencies. If a patient is a Veteran, but is a Medicare Recipient, they may choose any Medicare approved hospice agency for their care. ~

ACTIVE ADULT COMMUNITIES are traditionally geared towards the physically active senior, these communities can be apartment style, cottage/patio home, or Condo/ Townhome style living. There are often community gatherings and many offer enhanced amenities like concierge, golf courses and recreation centers. They usually do not offer meal or meal option community dining (but may have a restaurant on site). May be a buy-in or a rental property.

DAY CARE – Any provider can elect to provide day/night services on a short or long term basis. Rates typically include a place to rest, one or two meals and snacks and activities for the day. Licensed communities are prohibited by law to promote these services without a specific license.

AGE RESTRICTIONS – Some communities have a restriction on the youngest age they are allowed to accept. These restrictions vary by community.

INDEPENDENT HOUSING – Apartments and communities for adults 55+ with little or no senior support services (e.g. no meals, etc...)

ALZHEIMER’S / DEMENTIA ASSISTED LIVING COMMUNITY – Licensed assisted living facility or skilled nursing facility that specialize in delivering care to victims of Alzheimer’s and dementia. Communities are typically bedroom-style rental units with common areas for dining and activities. Many are locked for residents’ safety. ASSISTED LIVING COMMUNITY – Typically apartment-style with kitchenettes and private baths. Some offer companion accommodations. Personal assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, eating and ambulation.

ulation of 65+ is set to increase by 160%, while the population of 85+ is set to increase 337%. This is a national trend with potentially huge ramifications on the local level as baby boomers age in place, and older Americans move to be with their baby-boomer children.

Innovations in Aging Collaborative was formed with the goal of breaking down silos, spurring substantial conversation around what the “silver tsunami” would mean for the Pikes Peak region, and looking at innovative, collaborative ways to prepare. In March 2016, Colorado Springs was accepted into the network of Age Friendly Cities by AARP and the World Health Organization. By doing so, we have committed to putting in the time and effort to make our city more “Age Friendly.” To be “Age Friendly” means to be a community where the oldest and the youngest community members can live full, engaged, and active lives. For example, the old and young are often unable to drive, which means that they are often stranded in a car-centric transportation system. To connect to community activities, maintain social networks, and perform basic activities to living, they must depend on either a public

transportation system, safe walking paths, or other people to drive them. Similarly, as people age, they often want to downsize their home while remaining in their community. Having smaller, accessible housing for this population is part of allowing individuals to age in community and continue contributing in ways that benefit everyone. We work to affect change by partnering with community leaders in the non-profit, governmental, and for-profit sectors. By doing so, we have managed to incubate several successful programs that focus on aging well in Colorado Springs. One excellent example is the Age Friendly Business Certification program that is now part of the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado. That Tough Conversation “Dad, I don’t think it is safe for you to drive anymore.” “Mom, have you considered Assisted Living? You are not eating very well and I noticed you did not take your medications again last night that I left out for you.” “Mom and Dad, the house is falling apart around you. Have you considered bringing in some help with yard work, repairs, and maybe housekeeping?” As an adult child who is helping to care for a parent, you might be facing a tough conversation with a loved one. There are ways to make those discussions easier and most of all, respectful, to those that have loved and cared for you over the years. Starting the conversation can be as easy as “Dad I am concerned about (fill in the blank)” You may find that they have been sharing some of these same concerns. First, be respectful of the aging process. Physical and cognitive changes can be scary, and sometimes hard to acknowledge and accept. Educate yourself on options available, from help at home with household chores, additional medical

care or assisted living options. Understand that you are possibly asking a loved one give up a portion of their life, whether it is driving, making meals, or even living in their home. You are possibly proposing that they close a chapter of their lives. Secondly, don’t ignore things such as not eating, failing to take medications or a change in how the home is kept. Do try to open up a conversation on what you are observing and share information you learned from educating yourself on options which could help them. Get help or guidance from professionals if appropriate. Lastly, understand that the choice, whatever it might be, is ultimately theirs to make. Asking a parent to accept help with cleaning, with cooking, or even help with bathing can be a big deal to them. REHABILITATION AND THERAPY – Many skilled nursing facilities offer restorative and rehabilitative physical and occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology services. Short-term rehabilitation services may be provided to individuals with diagnoses such as joint replacements, stroke, etc. Long-term rehab may also be provided for permanent residents of the facility who have chronic or progressive illnesses. Occupational therapy services in this setting are generally reimbursed by Medicare Part A for short-term, acute care clients; Medicare Part B for long-term residents who require skilled services and have medically necessary need for rehab; and often by private insurance, Medicaid, or private pay for younger clients. RESIDENTIAL HOME – Assisted living homes are private residential homes that typically have a small number of residents who live together and receive care from livein caretakers. Adult family homes offer room and board for seniors

who want a more private, homelike community. Assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing and dressing are provided. Amenities and nursing services vary greatly between homes. Ask about their services when you tour. They are also referred to as personal board and care homes. Most accept private pay; Medicaid in some instances. RESPITE CARE / SHORT-TERM STAY – Otherwise known as a short-term stay. Any provider of IL, AL, ALZ or SNF care can elect to provide fully furnished accommodations to a person for a short period of time. Rates usually quoted on a daily basis and are typically inclusive of all services and amenities. RETIREMENT COMMUNITY – Housing designed specifically for mature adults. Typically Studio, 1 BR or 2 BR rental apartments with full kitchens, and private baths are available. Services include meal plans, transportation, housekeeping, laundry and maintenance. Amenities are usually abundant; formal libraries, computer stations, swimming pools, gardens, and other social gathering spaces. Rates are monthly, and are typically based on size/ location of apartment. SECURED UNIT – A secured unit dedicated to Alzheimer’s/Dementia residents to prevent wandering

outside the community without supervision. SHORT-TERM CARE – Acute care provided on a short term basis. SKILLED CARE – 24 hour licensed nursing services, eight hours of which are RN covered. Patient may receive rehab services either inpatient or outpatient and may be fully dependent for ADL’s. Patients receive medications by an RN according to a licensed physicians orders.

A tracheotomy is a surgical procedure in which a cut or opening is made in the windpipe (trachea). Three Important Questions to Ask Searching for a quality memory care While Touring community for a loved one often Memory Care comes at a time of need. It can be overwhelming to make an important Communities decision for a loved one during such a time, but with a little prior knowledge and a few vital questions, an informed choice may be made.

Three questions to ask while visiting a memory care community:

What levels of care does this community provide? The ever-evolving symptoms of a memory-loss diagnosis may mean that varying levels of care will need to be provided throughout the lifetime of a resident. Moves from one care community to another may triggers symptoms of unease, depression, or anxiety. Check to see that the community you are touring will be able to not only handle the symptoms that are occurring now, but have the ability to help with a variety of possible outcomes.

Is there a nurse? How many hours a day is your nurse on staff? Prompt treatment of medical needs is imperative in providing the best outcomes for seniors. Having a licensed nurse on staff, ideally 24 hours per day, allows for quick processing of physician orders.

cial skills and tools to provide the best quality of care. Ask the community you are touring how often their team members get training and what types of trainings are provided. Look for training specifically designed for memory care. Memory Care communities are specially designed to meet the needs of individuals with a diagnosis of memory loss. Before touring a community gather a little information about the diagnosis and symptoms of your loved one as well as any financial information you have.
