The historic property was built in 1091 and is considered the most important castle in the western Puster Valley. During its almost 1,000 year history the castle has been the residence of various landgraves, a customs house and local courthouse. In 1992 the castle ruins were acquired by a local businessman and lovingly and authentically reconstructed based on historical records.

The approach to the castle is by a private road past agricultural estates up to the castle area of a total 15,000 square metres. At the end of the road there is an impressive castle gate which opens to the welcome visitor by a convenient push of a button, simultaneously providing the highest level of security and privacy.

After passing through the castle gate you travel along past the castle walls and then come upon a modern two storey restaurant and events building, which the current castle owner uses as an exhibition area for his vintage car collection. This building is completely glazed in the upper storey and offers multi-functional utilisation for events, celebrations, private art exhibitions, or presentations of all kinds. There is already an appropriately designed, high value, technically equipped catering kitchen on the ground floor, as well as plenty of room due to the open plan design.

Further up towards the castle is the officially licensed helicopter landing pad which is fully usable and completely legal – a high value rarity which is only approved in a few regions of south Tyrol. Already the view of the Puster Valley is captivating with a breathtaking fascination and you sense how privileged you might feel as the owner of this exceptional property

Beneath the impressive entrance portal of the castle you reach more purpose built exhibition rooms and garages, which extend over three levels, offering additional space for functions. These areas could also be converted into a separate guest or staff wing. In the lower level there is room for three large vehicles or all the equipment for the upkeep of the castle grounds.

Passing through the imposing castle gate of the upper main entrance and up a wide, tunnel-like stairway into the breathtaking inner courtyard of the castle you reach the main building, which has a fascinating ambience

Lovely tall geraniums along the balconies of the inner courtyard create a picturesque scene and various architectural antiquities transport the visitor to a different time.

From the inner courtyard various entrances to the other living and residential areas open out through old wooden doors and over antique stone steps.

On the ground floor there is a medieval chapel with old wall paintings, multifunctional, practical utility rooms, the impressive well and the entrance to an adjacent wing which houses the private apartments of the castle owner.

The main wing of the castle is divided into two very imposing living areas. On the ground floor there is a large, authentically restored, living and dining area with an amazing view of the Puster Valley and the surrounding mountain landscape.

In the salons the open fireplaces, picturesque bay windows with fantastic views through castle walls up to 1.50 metre thick, as well as exclusive fittings with stylish furniture and antiques, help to create an exceptional authentic atmosphere. As a particular highlight, the 130sqm partially covered terrace may be mentioned – an incomparable location in which to celebrate or to relax, whatever the season.

A high quality underfloor heating system and modern building technology has been integrated in the total area of the 800sqm so far extended and completely renovated living areas. An alarm system and comprehensive security installation ensure the highest degree of privacy.

The private domain of the castle owner on the first floor is reached by a staircase which winds around all of the castle walls, offering a series of almost 400 sqm of different rooms.

Here, interconnected salons, a fabulous kitchen/living room with high quality Gaggenau appliances and the generous master suite with a walk-in wardrobe captivates with a unique living concept.

The castle has two towers, which are currently used as guest areas. In the towers space has been created for a total of three imposing bedrooms each with their own bath, as well as for two salons.

From here you proceed directly to the roof terraces of the towers where a breath taking view over the Puster Valley opens up and you get an awesome sense of the spectacular height of the imposing castle.

In the basement there is a wonderful wine cellar, a billiard room, and in the old dungeon, a modern energy centre with a stand-alone electricity generator providing self-sufficient power for the whole castle.

As part of the castle renovations, the attic is currently being further extended by approx. 400sqm as a shell with power connections and plumbing installed. This area offers the future owners of the castle complete flexibility in the design of additional living areas, bedrooms or a separate guest wing – according to personal wishes. Besides further imposing residential possibilities, a private art gallery or a luxurious wellness area could also find a very special place here.
