MACRO SITE PLAN N.T.S.
Neightbouring Building (SKF) Our site is located at Sentul West, where the area is less develop than in Sentul East (developed by YTL). However, the site is full of cultural influence, especially dfrom the Indian society because many indians have settled in Sentul since the construction of rail road during the 1920s. KLPAC The site is located just beside the busy Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah (Jalan Ipoh), which is a main connection between Kuala Lumpur to Kepong,, Titiwangsa and other cities. Therefore, there are various of public transportation over the road, including taxis, buses and vehicles. The view around the site is full of greenery, which makes anadvantage to our studio design, the greeneries include the the huge green area from KLPAC which is just located opposite the road, moreover, the pesdrian walkways are also well covered with a row green trees.
MICRO SITE PLAN N.T.S.
The surrounding building design are mainly modern shophouses which previously work as motor workshops. There are still remainig motor workshops at certain area, but now there are mainly office blocks and other workshop purposes.

KANAZAWA UMIMIRAI LIBRARY, JAPAN As a library for the future, the act of creating space in keeping with the mood and setting of ta library within this 45m x 45m x 12m massive volume. Around 6000 holes (measuring 200, 250 and 300mm) puncture the concrete exterior of the library, and each hole is filled with translucent glass, allow penetration of natural light into the the 12m high reading room of the library.

CREATIVE • allow interac,on with natural and ar,ficial light, both as a means of crea,ng night-,me ligh,ng effects. • can be used to create geometric designs and shapes thus increasing the building aesthe,cs. COST EFFECTIVE • offer a cost effec,ve refurbishment op,on to upgrade the aesthe,cs of an old building. LIGHTWEIGHT • comparably lighter weight therefore offering a sun shading solu,on as well as helping reduce loadings on the structure of a building. SOUND ABSORPTION • perforated plates are usually mounted leaving an air cavity between these and the hard backing of the enclosure.
Glass-fiber reinforced concrete (Structural)
Fluoropolymer coating (Weather-proofing)
DISADVANTAGE OF PERFORATED WALL FAÇADE
Reason To Choose The Façade System Suitable to the concept of my studio design, Oasis, which relates to the introduction of natural elements into the building, such as natural sunlight and the permeability of view through and from the surrounding context. A sense of lightness and less opaque feeling of the façade, corresponds to the futuristic curvy and floating interior of the studio design, which suites the desired atmosphere for the space. The sound absorption characteristic of the the façade system is ideal for the construction of the studio design, which is a community library.
Arrangement of Concrete Perforated Wall Panel
•
addition risk of water penetration
•
more complex construction layering compare to brick to brick construction.
•
Fixed openings for penetration of sunlight

STUDENT-LED CLINIC AT VICTORIA UNIVERSITY, AUSTRALIA
ADVANTAGES OF ADEKA PANEL SYSTEM
The purpose to build the health clinic is to provide unique experience for clients, representing a concept of health service that is leading edge. The design responds to the rich contextual references, from the colorful tonal landscape of the Werribee farms to the stunning native landscape of Werribee Gorge, it reflects a sense of community beyond the traditional health facility.
EASE OF CONSTRUCTION • easily assembled with great seal. • easy installa,on and contemporary aesthe,cs. • Quick and easy moun,ng
MATERIAL
WEATHER RESISTANCE • A skin par, cularly adapted to harsh climates. • ADEKA elements are weather resistant thanks to the 2” (5 cm) overlap, raised edges at the top and dropped edges at the boHom. • a polystyrene wedge bonded to the underside of the ADEKA.

Adeka Zinc Alloy Panels
AESTHETIC • solu,on aesthe,c and architectural facade that highlights the volumes of buildings. • smooth and elegant, with a strong apprecia,on of the velvety texture of zinc.
DISADVANTAGE OF ADEKA PANEL SYSTEM Reason To Choose The Façade System
•
possible risk of water penetration.
The façade system is suitable to the harsh weather in Malaysia, which has constant change of heavy rain and direct sunlight.
•
Rigidness, does not support visual permeability.
•
High cost material and construction.
Provide industrial aestheticness to the design, allow weather insulation to the building.

CONTEMPLATIVE SEA RETREAT, CHILE Located on the Central Chilean coastline, this contempla,ve sea retreat with spectacular panoramic view is designed by Raimundo Anguita.Nested on a cliff between the exclusive summer loca, ons, Zapallar and Papudo. The curved roof evokes the sea while the exposed concrete defining the exterior protects this contempla,ve and detached hideout from the harsh wind.
MATERIAL
STRONG STRUCTURE • allowing wide areas to be spanned without the use of internal supports, giving an open, unobstructed interior. Flexible Form • Concrete was chosen for the roof construc,on not only because of its thermal mass, but also because of its ability to form into shapes and its structural capabili,es.
Inner Lightweight Concrete Skin Filler
THERMAL INSULATION • thermal mass allowed the roof to absorb and release heat as the ambient temperature fluctuated. • regulate the warmth of the living spaces, reducing peak and trough internal temperatures.

Cavity Closer Aluminium Gutter Lightweight Concrete
Building Section (N.T.S)
Reason To Choose Concrete Curved Roof System
Internal Wall External Wall
An alternative and more attractive structure to the design. The curvature of the roof allow tit to withstand harsh weather such as strong winds. Curved roof suites the concept of my own studio design, which the curve roof can represent the old railway workshop of Sentul.
ADVANTAGES OF CONCRETE CURVED ROOF
Concrete Curved Roof To Wall Joint
DISADVANTAGE OF CONCRETE CURVED ROOF •
concrete is a porous material, concrete domes oMen have issues with sealing.
•
rainwater can seep through the roof and leak into the interior of the building.
•
seamless construc,on of concrete domes prevents air from escaping, and can lead to buildup of condensa,on on the inside of the shell.

Concrete Footing
The 3 storey building is formerly a clock factory of reinforced concrete structure. The Japanese architect Kengo Kuma has retained almost all the reinforced concrete structure, while the added third floor and the atrium are constructed with steel structures, making the building a combination of concrete and steel structure.
Steel Column And Footing Detail
DESIGN FLEXIBILITY • ability to span greater distances with steel ceiling joists. • High in tensile strength, high flexibility in structure construc,on.
MATERIAL Sheer Studs Mesh
Steel Beams And Columns
DURABILITY • Does not suscep, ble to termites and pests like wood structure. • Provides extra strength in case of natural disaster.
Concrete Slab
ENERGY EFFICIENCY • steel is one of the most recyclable products in the world.. • using recycled steel saves energy and natural resources, which in turn, lowers the cost for producing new steel products.
DISADVANTAGE OF ADEKA PANEL SYSTEM
Composite Steel Deck Floor
• Profile Steel Decking
Reason To Choose Steel Structure System Provide high flexibility in designing the form of the structure. Promote green building with the used of environmental friendly steel construction.
Universal Beam
Composite Steel Deck Floor Detail
High cost construction.
ADDITIONAL ISULATION APPLICATION • Steel buildings require added insula,on as steel on its own is not a very good insulator
