Production guide to filming in Serbia 在塞尔维亚拍电影-电影制作指南 Introduction of visa-free regime between China and Serbia, as well as a cooperation agreement in the field of film and culture signed between the Serbian Ministry of Culture and Information and the Ministry of Culture of the city of Beijing and National Producers Associations open the doors to prolific collaboration with Chinese film industry. In October 2017 representatives of Beijing bureau for print, publishing, film, radio and broadcasting and Film Center Serbia signed Memorandum of Understanding and cooperation in the field of film that envisages programming reciprocity in both countries and encouragement and development of support mechanisms for production, distribution and festival circulation of Chinese and Serbian films in partnering countries, as well as cooperation between film archives, museums and educational institutions in film domain. This agreement resulted in special call for projects with proposal of 3 scripts in development for partners in China. The selected project is “Chinese without effort” by film director Miroslav Momcilovic. During 2019 celebrated film director Emir Kusturica and Predrag Antonijevic announced development of two films that will be shot in PR China. Film Centre Serbia and Ministry of culture are actively working on the draft of Coproduction Agreement between Republic of Serbia and PR China.

Film Shot in Serbia 在塞尔维亚已拍摄的电影 Last August, the first Chinese feature film Belgrade Escape was shot in Serbia for 30 days on locations in Belgrade downtown and Students’ campus. The film is collaboration between Broken Star Films from Beijing and Emote Productions from Belgrade. Languages spoken in the film are Serbian, Chinese and English. This film is one of the projects that benefit from 25% cash rebate incentive programme of the Ministry of Economy and the overall experience working with Serbian film crews and locations used in Belgrade Escape give way to more projects from China shooting in Serbia.

Earlier, in 2017 Belgrade became an inspiration for the documentary Where the Sava Flows, written and directed by Shanghai bestseller author Chen Danyan. Film portrays Belgrade recent history and cultural events in the spirit of a road movie. Produced by Tang Media Partners and Shanghai Media Group with co-producer Vision Team who took over the complete production and creative support.
