Verticalling

Introduction The most demanded trainings in public education centers are the sewing, handicrafts and jewelry design for people, which they are given and the fact that they are not included in the public due to the physical boundaries and the different spatialities are given in the same spatial quality and it breaks the connection between education and public. Kemeraltı is a suitable place for the concept of “island” with its physical location and semi-public facility. It is aimed to call people with the staircases passing through façade of the existing buildings horizontally and to provide different experiences in vertical in this building where training, production and sales are made.

Time Regulation Institute

13

Introduction Time Regulation Institute is located in Konak,İzmir Izmir is located in west part of Turkey. It has historical importance between Europe and Asia. Ottoman Empire did some changes about life and European gave as a gift the Clock Tower. It is in Konak city center and near Kemeraltı Çarşısı. In the past, many people looked at tower to learn what time is because there are few people who has watch. This Clock Tower works and shows day time and night time. People generally work at day time. Perception in time changes from person to person. However, in this institute people work as duration same time but also at nights but they can not realise what time is.

This building lives 24 hours per a day so it provides people safe environment. They can use it as a public institute or as a public park. Also, while they were here, they can see and visit other buildings for example Archeology Museum. People approach from bottom of site and they can see and visit other buildings for example Archeology Museum.

Offices are above the building to monitor what is happening in building. Working areas are in middle of building so people can go inside

Introduction Inciraltı is near the city center in Izmir. It has public access to relax for people. Many people come to this area especially in weekends and spend their times with their families. There are 4 types of buildings which are painting, dancing, literature and yoga. All these buildings designed according to “meditation” theme with learning by doing strategy. Medipaint Center provides people to get experience in paint.

Multifamily Houses

25

Introduction Project is located in Antalya. Design idea comes from using different sizes together. At least 2 floors need to have 4 types of flat which are 35 m², 55 m², 75 m² and 95 m² together. While getting together they need to keep their sunlight. Ground floor and first floor has 4 types of flat. In second floor, 35 m² house is taken off. In third floor 55 m² house is taken off and from ground to top building follows this orientation rule. It provides the apartment to get common terraces.

Concept & Design & Board

FINAL DESTINATION

MARS A dragonfly is an insect which has large multifaceted eyes, two pairs of strong transparent wings, sometimes with coloured patches and an elongated body. Its body inspired of many investigations and flying systems. impor The importance of identifying the flight mechanisms of the dragonfly, as an inspiration for designing flapping wing vehicles, is well known. An experimental approach to understanding the complexities of insect wings as organs of flight could provide significant outcomes for design purposes. With the enlighting of these researches we maintain two important specilities; 1. The patterns of the wings follow the general tensile forces exhibit on the wing 2. The various shapes carry the responsibility of determining the amount of stiffness or flexibility in that area of the wing.

DESIGN IDEA OF THE PROJECT PERSPECTIVE

The design of the structure is based on the structure of the dragonfly wing. It has a kind of skeleton that covers each unit. The units are exist of cells which is a living space for humans. The exterior of each unit is works as a energy source and charge station for the cells. All the cells fed up by this source and get energy which is transmitted from wind. Also, human beings need oxygen and it can be recieved from the green houses, placed between units. The whole system is designed to supply the primary needs of life. In addition, these cells can move freely in units also in Mars to explore and discover new spaces for colonization. The wing shape of the units used to act as a wing and fluctuate according to the wind direction. This helps us to obtain maximum energy. The positioning of the wing- units has also a spesific purpose which is creating the most beneficial placement to get energy. It has a kind of rose shape from top view by making them looking face to face but with a spesific distance and curved shape. It leads wind from one unit to another and we are transfering that for the energy we need.
