1 Jacuna MX The existing food production system will not be able to accommodate the growing demand of animal protein by 2050. In addition, meat production is the largest source of CO2 emissions in the world. One possible solution for minimizing this issue has been proposed by several researchers around the world: INSECTS. Despite the clear advantages of insect production and their integration into the human and animal cuisine, there remains a significant taboo and knowledge gap regarding its use. The aim of Jacuna MX is to transform the preconceived ideas about insects and be the leader in the entomophagy niche in Mexico.
Jacuna MX is a non-profit platform that advocates for the immersion of entomophagy culture (consumption of insects).
Actually, Jacuna MX collaborates with different restaurants, bars, shops and artists in order to promote the consumption of insects. One of the key partners is Aspire Food, winner of the Hult Prize for US$1mm with operations in Canada, USA, Mexico and Ghana In addition actually is offering a product line of grasshoppers in 3 different flavors (Garlic, Chilly and Lemon), worm salt, books and bugs paraphernalia. Using social media Jacuna MX has been an active actor in the entomophagy world scene, with followers from all 5 continents.

MEXICAN ENTOMOPAGHY
The entomophagy offers the possibility for rural communities to exploit a renewable natural. Some insects can be found in high concentrations in agricultural fields causing losses for the farmers. The mechanical collection of insects considered as pests can eliminate the use of dangerous Agrochemicals. On this topic, Jacuna MX has taken an active role in the promotion of the collection and consumption of insects in rural communities, involving local governments, NGO’s, farmers, single mothers, and university students in different talks and workshops.
2 Inseqtec One of the ways to address food and feed security is through insect farming. Insects are everywhere and they reproduce quickly, and they have high growth and feed conversion rates and a low environmental footprint over their entire life cycle. They are nutritious, with high protein, fat and mineral contents. They can be reared on waste streams like food waste. According to the International Feed Industry Federation, global compound animal feed production was 720 million tonnes in 2010. The use of insects on a large scale as a feed ingredient is technically feasible, and established companies in various parts of the world are already leading the way in this regard. Insects as feedstock for aquaculture and poultry feed are likely to become more prevalent within the next decade.

Inseqtec is a project granted by the Queretaro’s Autonomous University and the Mexican National Council of Science and Technology
UAQ’s Entomophagy Production Center
From basic and cheap technologies that help marginalized communities to improve their processes for collecting and processing, to research laboratories with highly automated and specialized systems for maximizing productions, the production of insects offers enormous opportunities for technology development.

To propose an initiative in this sector, the Master of Design and Innovation (Strategic Design) in collaboration with the Laboratory of Bioengineering at the Autonomous University of Queretaro, currently develop a project that will host experimental systems for the production of insects, principally Black Soldier Fly (BSF).

The first stage of this project consists in the construction of an artificial environment of 30 meters square and the experimentation with different conditions to rear the specimens. In addition is being written a business plan in order to spin-off the project in 2016.

3 NeolĂtico The need to encourage sustainable activities is imperative in this era. This has started to permeate gradually into the population, generating a demand for alternative products that can be integrated into their lifestyle. One of the issues that have created more attention mayor is the interest in food alternative and selfproduction. An edible garden not only allows have for fresh, organic food, it creates an experience where can be learned a lot about natural cycles. Neolitico is an enterprise focus on the design and production of furniture for outdoors and edible gardens. Its products offer esthetics and functionality for those who wants to live the experience of gardening and natural living in urban environments.
We believe that the introduction of these activities is important for the next generations who are losing Compost bin

During this period was hosted different exhibitions, concerts, presentations of magazines, live art and hosted a resident artist for three months. As a form of collaboration with artists and illustrators friends of Casa Granada, was created a screen-painting workshop to produce art-prints that was exhibited and sold to national and international collectors.

Design guide for urban edible gardens The current concept of edible gardening starts in the medieval Europe, where a large number of war and disease were present, so home gardens were necessarily converted into spaces for planting fruit trees, vegetables and medicinal plants. Is not the same design a small garden in pots on a small terrace, that make it to recover a wasteland. Each will have different requirements and take them into account cannot transform a rewarding activity in a disastrous experience. This work is a guide that provides tools for designing gardens in urban spaces. With this document the persons concerned have at their disposal a compendium of information that reduces the time spent on documentary research included in a design process time. Mateamigos 6 Mateamigos (Math friends) is a program focused on the promotion of the learning of mathematics in primary school students. Using different materials and didactic activities, the kids are encouraged to discover different aspects and theories of algebra, geometry and topology. This program has been presented in different states around Mexico and has been recognized for its innovativeness and efforts to promote science.
7 Live objects The objects presented here were realized during a workshop with the Mexican designer Cecilia Leon de la Barra. The objective was the use of objects found in popular markets as raw material for new reinterpretations. In this case was chosen the use of vegetation and light to give new life to inert materials that once were organic organisms.
Monolight Monoliths are fictional advanced machines built by an unseen extraterrestrial species that appear in Arthur C. Clarke’s Space Odyssey series of novels and films. It influences encourage humankind to progress with technological development and space travel. Nowadays we live in a world of monoliths, we have the black mirrors in our offices, living rooms, restrooms and even in our pockets. This solid aluminum luminary is inspired in the relationship of humans and technology. The monolith has appeared, and then and there is the light.
