Beirut heavenly and Wells'ion as a portal between dimensions. The basic or starting symbol of the Wells'ion project in Beirut is a water well, which is what the name of the city "Beirut"means in Arabic. The tragedy of the explosion in the port of Beirut is considered through the figurative concept of" water well explosion " - wells+explosion

Abstraction and idea. The water well in this" explosion " is not considered as a physical salvation in the desert through a depth filled with water, but as the opposite – in the projection up into the sky. In this case, the well, split into water atoms after the explosion, is collected in a cloud of Mirage, depicting the city of heaven. In other words, an exploded well produces a cloud of vapor and opens a portal to the sky. But since the well is Beirut, it endlessly reproduces a projection of itself in the Mirage – displaying a unique image – Beirut as the city of heaven. Beirut as the city of heaven constantly records and reproduces itself in the sky, in this sense, life there is not interrupted, but continues forever. This is the hope for the city after the explosion, that nothing has stopped, but continues to live, only in another dimension and we can see it. This is possible due to the signs of infinity, ghostly, universal visibility. Together, the features describe the rare phenomenon of the Mirage-Fata Morgana through optical ghosts or phantoms. Such a phantom, fairy-tale and mythological hero of Beirut, which, in addition to the explosion of 2020, has already been destroyed several times, is certainly the Phoenix bird, constantly rising from the ashes. Phoenix, covering the city of Beirut, is the final abstract image of the project. The key metaphor of the project is that Beirut is alive and will live forever, finding its image of the city in the sky like a Phoenix rising from the ashes. The main goal of the project is to build bridges between the worlds. This is where the main function of Wells'ion manifests itself - it is a portal or gateway to this heavenly city, between the temporary present state and the eternal heavenly one. Thanks to this, everyone will be able to touch and communicate between the dimensions of the city.

The architecture of the project. Wells'ion is a physical device in the form of a portal that creates all the necessary conditions for the optical manifestation of a Mirage and its abstract image. The image is based on a well-a rectangle measuring 30 by 90 meters with a hole 10 by 50 in the middle, the height of the sides is 6 meters and the depth of the pit is 10 meters. The first and only action on the image of the well is an explosion-pushing the side faces of the shell up 15 meters and their disintegration into horizontal bands with a gradient from wide to thin: from top to bottom on the outer contour, from bottom to top on the inner contour. Thus, thanks to the constant transition of the shell from thin strips to wide ones, the main pavilion-memorial is formed and the principle of infinity of the blown-up well is demonstrated and symbolizes the opened gate to another dimension with its shape. The structure inside the pavilion shell is supported by a continuous 1 by 1 meter grid of thin rods in a 2 cm profile, the middle in the form of a hole and a pit down to the underground level remains empty. Such a dense filling of the pavilion creates both the effect of close occupancy and the splitting of space into atoms – here everything, even the clouds produced by the well, turn into fine vapor. The circular gallery formed in this way symbolizes the infinity of space and timelessness.

Cycles and operating principles are based on the principle of a laboratory for the production of clouds with the play of shadows, illumination, and projections. The sculpture hall at the bottom of the well is illuminated and casts a shadow into the clouds created along with the shadows of the visitors. The Beirut Museum is located in the underground passageways, and the well is connected by a passageway.
