PORTFOLIO Spatial data connectivity hypothesis

What if combining different disciplines and opportunities for sensory experimentation is a 21st-century trend? After all, the intuitive perception of space is much clearer and more specific than a huge cloud of non-analyzed electronic data. In this way, we can create shells that, like masks, can fill in data and combine it into something imaginable that can be spatially materialized in the new city scale between architecture and building with the radical sustainable design.

HYBRID ARCHITECTURE SMART URBAN PLANNING SPATIAL RESEARCH

I am an architect of urban concepts. It’s strange enough to combine different industries of architecture and urbanism, isn’t it? But this is where I see my design specifics: from understanding global urban processes to their impact on the small space of architecture. In this finding between lies the prospect of the development of the profession, directed towards the digitalization of the environment and the creation of parallel functioning spaces for life. This is a professional response to the concept of the metaverse By the way, I have 10 years of work experience. During this period, I became an expert in urban planning and participated in large-scale projects of land use and renovation rules for Moscow, as well as strategies for the development of Izhevsk, cities of the Russian Arctic, cities of Southeast Asia. The latest projects are based on deep gis analysis and algorithmic design, principles of sustainability and planning using indexes.

1

In parallel, I am dealing with issues of socialization of the urban environment and urban planning. This is the subject of my dissertation in graduate school, articles and projects at competitions. The modification of planning approaches through a non-conflict approach is dedicated to the project of revitalization of the Sochi agglomeration, with which I won the competition of the World Youth Festival 2017.

kontakt

The last three years have been a turning point for me in the search for the application of new urban approaches to the scale of architecture. Hybridization of architecture through the influence of technology will create a flexible and adaptive typology as the most resistant to changes in modern cities. Architecture is not as a constant, but as an auxiliary design of constantly changing social manifestations in the digital reality, like a person’s clothes, it easily changes and adapts to any function and changes. The main difficulty arises in combining too much data - the final projects and ideas are too complex and incomprehensible. The summation hypothesis lies in the views of the New Renaissance - artistic interpretations are much clearer than representations through complex algorithms of big data analytics about the city, which lead to even greater ambiguity. Thus, we can create author shells that, like masks, can fill in data and combine it into something imaginable. This is the concept of the author’s perception of a random sample of big data. Ultimately, this can be easily and understandably materialized. I share my methodological and project developments in competitions, conferences, professional events as an expert. In 2020, I entered the international arena: I am developing a joint project with the Bartlett School to build a city through the search for the most viable forms, and I am conducting a study for the UN on the development of cities in Southeast Asia based on technological development and the phenomenon of uberization. In a practical sense, it is important for me to be in the forvator of the profession. At the moment I am working at the Urbantech company Novaya Zemlya, where new digital mechanisms of urban planning are being developed.

s

Any project can be compared with a single environment in which many components are present. For a holistic perception, it is necessary to find both points of contact with mechanisms that actually work in reality, and to think about the design process and the coverage of border areas. The first process can be compared with the final visualisation process in the display, and the second with the rendering parameters and settings. Below is my personal progress in understanding all these processes.

HEADLINE

This portfolio includes projects for 2020, 2021 and 2022. The project structure demonstrates the integration of science and spatial concepts based on the hybrid architecture hypothesis. The projects are divided into topics on hybrid and other architecture of different scales and time-making, smart urbanism, as well as articles. Project formats - from personal to team work at workshops and work in the office. All projects are logically connected and show not so much the skills of owning architectural means of expression, as the process of comprehending existing social concepts through the urban and architectural context of the future through the development of technology. As a result , a critical picture of the world with a pronounced architectural artifact is presented as the final node of transfer to today’s world . Each project is a small microuniverse with its own environment and consists of several related ideas: an urban concept, an architectural concept, a social concept, a technological concept, ecological and digital concept. In addition, each project has its own presentation form: text, video, collages, visualizations, drawings and motion

Calendar „Calendar” is a new format of communication, when anyone can leave a message, it can be highlighted by a projector, voiced, or used as a shelter. The synergistic effect of communication is achieved when all scenarios of use are involved simultaneously: carousel, rotation and reproduction of sounds, projections, messages. The design is a rotating installation of 6x8 meters like a carousel with tightly fixed petals-panels that indicate dates that need to be filled in. Such an installation has cycles of functioning and constantly changes its function, offering the user a new communication environment. 1.NOTEBOOK The user can leave an inscription, a wish on the panel for the present and the future. 2.CAROUSEL-panels like hammocks or saddles for circular swings. 3.TENT panels. It is possible to remove and use the panels and be „inside the records”. 4.The PROJECTION plane. Images are projected on the shell of the coil-the effect of a teleconference and the presence of the city is created. 5.The SPEAKER that emits the sound is a drum. The central cylinder has built-in ratchets. When rotated by wind or scrolling, the spokes tap the outer shell, producing the sounds of nature.

Cloud

The idea of the art object for Nikolo-Sloth is to re-lay social communication, as previously laid telephone communication and people heard each other for the first time, being at home and not experiencing physical barriers between themselves. This is possible thanks to the installation of art objects like „communication clouds” in two places at the same time on the territory of the park and with the possibility of further transferring one of them to the city and creating a communication system. If earlier there were telephone sets, now the architecture of spaces is able to create such installations.

Cloud The object symbolizes the idea of packing and unpacking a forest as a cloud of data that moves to different spaces and simultaneously exists „there” and „here”. For example, „the cloud of the Sloth” and „the cloud of the Gateway” are one type of art object, but the first is located in the nature of NikoloSloth, and the second, urban-stuck in the arch of the house of the Basmanny district of Moscow. Thanks to the communication tools of objects, the user can simultaneously exist in the city and in nature in the same space, erasing physical boundaries and discovering a new language of communication. This demonstrates the peculiarity of a new, inclusive type of space, where there are no physical and social boundaries at the same time as equal access and rules of communication.

The simultaneous existence of art objects in Moscow and Nikolo-Lenivets demonstrates the erasure of physical boundaries and the portation of urban meanings to the forest and back. 6

The installation is a huge ball that symbolizes the globality and unity of the ongoing epidemic. The surface of the ball is covered with stripes with the text of the rescue case and the symbol of our life, which helped us survive and resist. Thousands of people on the Internet portal of the project will write their saving meaning in the form of a keyword for unity and help to those who are in need today and cannot find their rescue mission. The words printed on the strips of fabric will wrap around the ball like a garland. Anyone can come up and tear off a piece of the „saving word”, which will give him strength and stability. Thus, people who doubt today will receive psychological support and feel for themselves how many people have gathered to help them find themselves in a difficult moment.

Forestforming 01.02.21

«The ForestfForming» is a project to present an environmental challenge to raise the level of world waters. The project is based on the idea of flexible and adaptive development of coastal and marine water spaces through the artificial launch of terraforming processes.

01.03.21

So, on the landscape of modular puzzles of recycled plastic, its own civilization will arise and the process of evolution of life and architecture will start, starting from the first manual forms of dwellings.

Global situation

We will witness the maturation of the existing anthropogenic ecosystem in parallel, as if we live together with another world. The world of coastal technologies and an authentic world where the main task is garbage recycling. The social concept can be described through the technology of form memory. The two worlds communicate with each other after the invention of technology that allows you to project meanings and record knowledge, giving them any material form - from pixel clouds to pixels of material buildings. The floating part of the world studies and collects meanings from flooded cities, something like useful archeology, the coastal part, on the contrary, is able to collect and sell knowledge as a tangible product.

Global situation

In this project, the concept of technological and social reaction to the ecological catastrophe that divided the world and made it extremely contrasting is being worked out. This leads to the formation of a special urban environment and its own typology of architecture. Universalization is possible through a technological breakthrough (such as shape memory technology, which made it possible to make prints of the bottom and print out pieces of the city in another place) and a renaissance of relationships like port trade, capable of uniting two worlds that are different in their way of life. T 11

The project became a finalist of the Jacques Rougerie International Competition in Paris.

MOSCOW III.O

TTrends in the development of “green» technologies lead to a new generation urban environment with zero emissions into the atmosphere and a thrifty attitude to nature. On the other hand, little attention is paid to the development of small villages and towns. The huge metropolis of Moscow has become a «green» city, but the payback for all this is a huge ring of landfills around the city, which turned small towns and villages that once existed surrounded by forests and fields into endless ravines of garbage that require high-tech recycling. These two worlds exchange resources and communicate through a linearly built infrastructure based on railway tracks. From the «green” Moscow suburbs receive high technologies and pre-treated solid garbage for the construction of the infrastructure of a linear city. Architecturally, this is expressed in two ways: on the one hand, Moscow has acquired a second skin: temporary wooden structures have appeared in the middle of the avenues, the facades of buildings have been lined: people grow food in them, relax and walk. On the other hand, these are also places where products are stored for shipment to the suburbs and the formation of gray zones where the black market thrives.

12

The real immortality lies in overcoming physical and socioeconomic foundations: Moscow should become a village producing eco-products, and the suburbs should turn into new cities with scientific centers for processing products. The project is being developed with the participation of Bartlett School tutors and is currently being finalized. Thanks to this project, there is a strict clarity in the interrelationships between the socio-political and architectural concept as a single study.

1-10 000 «1 / 10,000» is a project about rethinking the concept of opportunities and inequality of chances for everyone. Every event in our life has come from a huge number of different interpretations. Then any event should be treated as a huge success, as if you won the lottery. On the other hand, it is possible to imagine it globally as a world lottery for everyone, where lucky balls are played, and this happens all the time.

01.07.21

Architecturally, this is represented through a corridor installation of threads and balls. We can find ourselves inside the corridors of events, move events away from ourselves, or move new opportunities to ourselves.

Plan

The object was implemented in Nikola-Lenivets on the main acoustic glade as part of the Signal music festival and assumed direct interaction - the balls could be shifted according to the distance rule, thus it was possible to measure the general social attitude to the idea of possibilities. This is a landmark project for me, it won an international competition, and Archdaily included it in the list of the 10 most successful projects of July 2021. But the implementation turned out to be of poor quality. In addition, the concept seemed complicated and incomprehensible to visitors, and the sign with the description and rules of the game was stolen in the first hour of the opening. But already on the second day, visitors began to compose various words from balloons, it turned into a kind of fence or message board. Despite all the difficulties of implementation, incomprehensibility and transformation of meanings during operation, the project has opened up several new ideas and revealed the problems of artistic expression as a separately necessary category of the concept. Now I try not to come up with specific usage scenarios, but to set the field for improvisations. 14

The cloud as the center of winemaking The key image for the wine center is the process of creating a cloud over the vineyard field as a data storage of all received information about the processes of winemaking and forms of its consumption. The main task of such cloud consists of smaller data sets capsules – is the constant and free generation of useful protocols for the relationship between human activity and winemaking. This is facilitated by the experimental platform of new human lifes formats, deployed directly in the field.

02.02.21

The image of a cloud of small capsules in the project is enclosed in the shape of a roof in the form of a shell with longitudinal rounded cells, which resembles traces of grapes. The function of data storage from a set of data sets is reflected in the planning structure of the building – it is a kind of board, made of a grid of columns with a step of 20 meters, in which chips are embedded as separate functional blocks. Wine tanks are transformed into a system of open courtyards-communicators within the entire complex as places for wine production chains. The interconnection of functional blocks and courtyard spaces takes place along inner streets. In general, the image of a covered city is built, which has its own buildings, courtyards, streets, generalized by the idea of winemaking and innovation park. AN INNOVATIVE ALGORITHM. The experiment to find new forms of work and recreation is as follows. Initially, the complex has the following main functional blocks: wine museum, cultural and commercial block, exhibition spaces, offices and hotels. Along with these blocks, the entire wine production infrastructure is localized in the courtyards of the complex: from vineyard fields and scientific laboratories to storage barrels and the production of wine bottles. Bringing together visitors of functional blocks and wine production chains inside courtyards, thanks to symposiums, conferences, concerts, a new format of work and recreation is born.

An experiment in finding new forms of work and recreation The field experiment is due to the reaction of familiar urban functions to the processes of wine production – as if conditional tanks of wine were spilling out into the urban environment, filling city buildings, streets and parks with new meanings. These can be new formats of wine culture together with the theater, offices, and housing. It is the creation of such a park of innovations of urban human life in the field that we offer as an idea of architecture.

As a sign of a new birth is transparent transport capsules, in which you can work, relax, and communicate. In such a capsule, it is possible to ride through the inner passages, or roll out directly into the field – to experiment with new technologies. The task of the complex is not only to increase such innovative capsules, but also to introduce them into the interior of the building structure through the generation of new permanent functional blocks. Thus, the complex is constantly updated and offers a whole park of unlimited opportunities for visitors to the wine center.

Revenge of the real Hybrid space 03.04.2020

The project proposes a permanent type of architecture for the effect of the pandemic, which directly interacts with humans. These are specially designed robotic mechanisms from the abandoned Soviet architecture, through which the city communicates with residents and offers services in crisis situations. Through the reflection of urban processes through the application, ordering GO music sounds on the facade of the module, TOor PROJECT or reflecting the level of noiseWEBSITE and dust pollution on the facade, or simply filtering the air – the game of the city and its inhabitants takes place. Also, the opening and settlement of new urban spaces - construction sites and scaffolding on which a residential module is strung-are all unprecedented architectural phenomena.

The article deals with the spatial planning and regulatory aspects of the organization of the digital space of the urban environment. The tools that can be used to regulate such an environment are explained. For this purpose, a two-stage authorization is proposed (similar to Mars): first, you open General satellite images and surface analysis using maps, then you analyze perspective street views. At the second stage, there GO TO PROJECT is a dissonance between theWEBSITE simple scheme of displaying labels and the untapped potential of opportunities. INTERIOR CONCEPT

01.04.20

01.05.20

Puzzles for metrostation In the metro, two metaphors are connected as opposition and contrast - coded artifacts of different residential buildings in the form of blocks (as a building-entrance, blocks-foyer, columns-platform) and the impermanence of social choice-the search for oneself in one side or the other - natural or urban (this is expressed in the form of light and transparent glass structures forming the walls, floor and ceiling at the entrance, a separation partition at the entrance to the pavilion as a channel gateway, light ceramics and panels inside-water and the channel as a permanent separation of the flow). As a result of such a conflict connection, the idea of finding ourselves in this area is born - it’s like turning through an album of different building patterns and looking for ourselves, combining opportunities and planning for the future. But this is not an easy task, it is a real puzzle, where randomness and the game factor are decisive.

But that’s not all I left Moscow three months ago for an ordinary village, where residents use old Soviet refrigerators on the street to store garbage in them, and piled-up reinforced concrete beams and slabs as a natural urban design. No, this is not post-Soviet brutalism - this is a technological rethinking and authorization of unwanted garbage content . In other words, these are the keys and prototypes for the hybrid architecture of the future that’s why I’m here, at the forefront in the study of architectural concepts.
