My First Time in the Emergency Room (1) I went to the Emergency Room for the first time when I was thirteen years old. (2) It all came about when I was skateboarding in front of my grandma's house and I tried to do a trick. (3) I almost pulled it off, but I messed it up in the end and headed to the ground with my hands down. (4) My right wrist was twisted the wrong way in the air when I landed hard on the ground, it just broke it. (5) At first, it did not hurt at all, as I looked down at my warped and twisted wrist. (6) All of a sudden, excruciating pain rushed through my wrist, which developed instant anxiety. (7) Rolling around on the ground yelling and cussing in pain, my parents saw what happened and came running to my aid. (8) Then my dad started moving it around. (9) He said, "it's not broken”, and my mom was saying over and over again that we needed to go to the emergency room to get the real diagnosis. (10) After about fifteen minutes of yelling and screaming, I finally got up, held my wrist, and I started walking to the car. (11) The whole way to the ER the pain got worse and worse. (12) Later, I found out that the increase in pain was due to massive swelling against the broken bone. (13) I had to sit in the waiting room for about an hour, but it seemed like forever. (14) Finally, I got into the doctor's office where I got an X-Ray and found out my wrist was truly broken.
