1. New RF Jam Detection Option in Field ✱22 2. Bell Supervision Added as a Hardware-Enabled Option
• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • 1. An RF Jam Detection option has been added for 5800 RF systems in Field ✱22 (option “4”). When selected, a 5881 type receiver will detect a condition that may impede proper RF reception (i.e., RF jamming or other RF interference). When such a condition is detected, the message RCVR Jam (Alpha keypads) or CHECK 90 (Fixed-Word keypads) will be displayed. In addition, a report will be sent to the central station (if trouble reporting is enabled), as follows: Contact ID report for RF Jam is event code 344. Option selections in field ✱ 22 now consist of the following: 0 = None 1 = 5800 RF System (5881/5882 type receiver) with no RF jam detection 4 = 5800 RF System (5881/5882 type receiver) with RF jam detection *
* This option available only with 5881/5882 receivers with microprocessor marked K3452–10 or higher installed.
Important Note: Normal use of a 5827 wireless keypad may cause a false RF jam message to be displayed in systems that have been programmed for RF Jam. 2. A hardware-enabled option for Bell Supervision has been added to this system. If enabled, and the “Alarm Output” loop connected to an external sounder is opened or shorted, the message “Bell Failure” (Alpha keypads)) or “CHECK 70” (Fixed-Word keypads) will be displayed, accompanied by a trouble sound. A report will also be sent to the central station (if trouble reporting is enabled), as follows: Contact ID report for Bell Supervision is event code 321. To enable this option: a. Cut the red jumper on the control board (see the diagram below). b. Connect a 2000 ohm resistor across the sounder terminals, not at the Alarm Output terminals! TERMINALS ON CONTROL BOARD

IF BELL SUPERVISION IS ENABLED (RED JUMPER ON CONTROL BOARD IS CUT), CONNECT A 2000 OHM RESISTOR ACROSS THE EXTERNAL SOUNDER, AS SHOWN BY THE DOTTED LINE. DO NOT CONNECT THE RESISTOR AT THE ALARM OUTPUT TERMINALS THEMSELVES!
