“Parenting 911” By Mother Goose -Tantrums
Little boy screams echo throughout the kitchen. Tiny feet patter as the angry small person works his way over to the carpet. Once over a soft spot to land, he throws himself down on the floor, thrashing and writhing and hollering his displeasure. It’s ‘The Tantrum.’ Every parent has seen one. Every parent is distraught by them and every parent wonders what to do about it. Since the cry of a human child is designed to be the most irritating sound on earth, (Google it. I’m sure it’s there.) most parents’ first reaction to a screaming tantrum is to get angry. “Stop it! Stop It! STOP IT!” they want to holler. But, knowing it won’t do a thing, they just watch with red faces and don’t know what to do. Only the most seasoned parents, long time day care providers or loving grandmas have mastered the art of letting children’s screaming wash over them without getting a bit heated themselves. How did they learn it? How can the rest of us come to deal with ‘The Tantrum’ without abusing, shouting ourselves, or going a little bit crazy? Understanding where a small person is coming from is a pretty critical step toward dealing with ‘The Tantrum.’ Imagine if you were feeling frustrated or sad or depressed and you only had the 50 word vocabulary found in ‘Green Eggs and Ham’ to express yourself. No matter how many times you yell, “I do not like green eggs and ham!!” Nobody seems to believe you. Or care. Or takes away the nasty

mounting Mom-frustration is just what is needed. A safe bed, a chair in the corner, or even some time on the back porch so the neighbors can enjoy the scene for a while might be in order. As children grow and increase in vocabulary, their ability to communicate needs expands and tantrums decrease. The more you talk to your children, the more you converse and give them communication skills, the more you reason with them, the sooner they will be able to articulate, “I’m really hungry for a piece of dark chocolate without nuts and just can’t seem to be happy without one.” This doesn’t mean you always give them what they want either. Sometimes, (perhaps most times, in fact) the best thing for children is for them to learn how to wrap their minds around the fact that they just aren’t going to get what they want. They may have to eat those green eggs and ham after all. And they may have to wait for that chocolate without nuts. They may have to settle for a hug and soft words. Eventually children do learn to settle down and solve problems without screaming. Meanwhile, just try to understand. And try not to have The Tantrum yourself.
stuff. So you resort to what you can do – irritate them to no end by your crying. Believe it or not, children usually do not indulge in ‘The Tantrum’ without some kind of underlying reason. Their tongue got burnt on their chicken noodle soup or they wanted the green cup, not the brown one. Their pants are stinky or there is a hair tangled around their big toe cutting off the circulation. Or maybe their blood sugar is low and what they really need is some lunch and a nap. Talk to your child. Ask questions. Do some sleuthing. Discover and solve the problem and viola! Peace and quiet. Until next time, that is. Sometimes parents do all they can to get a small screamer to tell them what the matter is and to no avail. Mom just can’t figure it out. Dad can’t hear over all the noise or understand If you have a problem, the explanation through all instead of screaming about the drool and cry-boogers. it, write to So if you try and you still can’t figure out the answer, sometimes Little Joe just mothergoose911 needs some time-out to @yahoo.com. settle down. Not many Americans have ever accomplished so much and received so little credit as did John Adams. It was really he, not George Washington, that was the father of this country. It has been said that “Adams conceived the infant, and Washington saved its life.” The cause of American liberty would have been delayed a decade, possibly 100 years, without the efforts of John Adams. As a businessman, he was a failure. His father gave him $5,000 to start a business, but it vanished. Again and again his business efforts were losing ventures. By the time he was 45, many had given him up as a complete failure. His shabby clothes and lack of assets marked the trials and difficulties of his life. But deep inside Adams were invaluable talents of genius. He was like a lightbulb that needed only a current to cast precious light. When Adams captured a glimpse of America’s chance for independence, he became a new creature. Then came the spark that touched off his hidden genius of organizing others and turning out a floodgate of political propaganda. Adams exploded the depredations of the [38] British soldiers. Their acts of disrupting church meetings, their drunken brawls, their conduct of rape and prostitution, and their sacking of *Spanish Fork location only private homes, all met the blast of Adams, the master exploiter. With these evils of the soldiers, he created unrest, if not anger, among the American people. With the exactness of a baker preparing his bread, Adams was

creating the American revolution. He mixed, molded, and shaped all of the events into this desired result. Then he raised the temperature of the Americans to perfect his creation. At the Boston Massacre, Adams jumped into action. He employed Paul Revere, the engraver, to portray a cartoon with British soldiers shooting down innocent citizens. Thousands of copies were sent to all 13 colonies. Then he wrote “A Short Narrative of the Horrid Massacre in Boston,” which he published and sent all over England. Other deeds of the British soldiers received the same brandishments. John Adams was the leading spokesman for American independence. He continually made speeches and poured out writings. He headed patriots into rebellion at Boston, and he organized the Boston Tea Party. He helped the British to abandon a policy of compromise; and, of course, he signed the Declaration of Independence. Adams was a member of the First Continental Congress until 1781. He was later [39] made governor of Massachusetts from 1793 to 1797—leading up to his becoming president of the country he helped make free. If his life taught us anything, it should have left us with an understanding of what the word “revolution” should stand for. Adams spent every means and every effort to revolt against tyranny, exploit evil, and establish freedom. Today the teeming thousands of revolutionaries fail to understand that their efforts for “revolution” are the breeding grounds for international Communists. Adams revolted against oppression; but today’s revolutionaries are for it!

WHY “SERVE DAILY”? Chris Baird Serve Daily
I’ll share a brief history with you of how this came to be. On February 18th, 2010 I started a Facebook Club named: Been Served, Pay Forward. I also created a card that is shown below. I have many of these, if you would like some contact me (see info to the left). I had no idea it would lead to a company. The end of that year I became more interested in the Constitution of the United States. I put together a 20 page docu-
ment and asked around for donations to help print a few hundred copies. About 300+ were handed out and I still have a handful. Thanks to all those companies who donated to the cause. Next thing I knew March 2011 came strolling by and I decided to start a small company that was going to provide small coupon spaces on a tri-fold. Thanks again to those companies who supported me. I also ventured into vinyl decals for walls, windows, auto-magnets, and basic two or three color banners. Also, I designed business

The Dragon Ruler B o o k
1 :
Chris J. Slaugh Author
Tell us a bit about your family: I grew up in Vernal, UT. I grew up with four brothers and three sisters, where there was never a dull moment. I am now 35 years old. I made my home in Utah, with my lovely wife and three gorgeous daughters. What prompted you to write Dragon Ruler? I have read 112 fantasy books in the past couple of years. I was wondering what book I wanted to read next and that got me thinking about what I wanted in a book. The more I thought about what I wanted in a book, the more I started thinking about a story line. With that, I sat in front of my computer and started writing.

attitudes brought more of a real feeling to the book. I was able to fit into their roles with more vigor, because I knew their emotions so well. Are there more volumes to come? If so, how many? There will be four books total. I am currently writing the second book, and having a blast doing it.
Author: Chris J. Slaugh to see something in your head, and another to try and put it on paper so that everyone can see what your trying to say. That was the hardest and the most fun part about writing my book.
Suggestions? For anyone who is reading this, I want you to know that anything is possible if you set your mind to it. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do something.
Book Review
What was the hardest part of writing the book? The hardest part about writing my book, was trying to get what was in my head onto the paper. It’s one thing

Using magic and other abilities they fight with many other creatures, and deal with other problems while passing through various types of terrain. I would compare this to many of the stories written by great authors of our time. It was a fun and exciting novel.
“Magical Creatures, who once ruled the world, started dying off as humans stopped believing in them and seized control over the lands. The Creatures, growing weak and dying, used their last bit of magic to transform into human forms. They found
suitable spouses and with them had a child. A child that was born part human, part Creature, being known as ”Fallen.” The Fallen were born with the Creatures’ powers and their birthright. The Fallen were raised and taught about their magical parents, preparing them for their rightful rule.
What did you hope to have the reader learn/understand by reading the book? I want the readers to just have fun and let their imaginations come to life when they read my book. I also want them to know that nothing is impossible. If you want to achieve something, go ahead and take that first step and see where life takes you. What hobbies do you have? I love anything that deals with the outdoors. I am huge into archery and fishing. I love to take my kids out and teach them about the fun things that only the outdoors can provide.
