Tote bag Everyone needs a tote bag in their life, it something that will be used over and over again. Its functional design is perfect for every occasion and if you haven’t got one already, your missing out. If you already have one, you need another. We will see a rise in crochet bags, typically used for food shopping, these bags will become more popular and have more of a purpose than just carrying oranges and apples. This bag is best for larger items like a towel and a book, perfect for a day lounging around the pool. These sustainable natural materials help to tackle the problem of plastic shopping bags. A woven bag is best for a beach day, they fit everything like you munch, towel and extra clothes. They are relaxed and have soft durable fabric in a variety of neutral colours. This means they work great with every outfit, a mini dress and sliders are a classic combination for a beach day. Pick a tote bag with a pattern, bold florals and tropical prints will make you feel like you are on holiday every time you use it. Pair it with a simpler mom chrome outfit to make it stand out, people will stare as you walk past wishing they had your bag.

For a long lasting durable tote, opt for high quality fabrics like leather. This bag will see you through many years of carrying heavy supplies. Pick a colour like black or beige to be able to wear it every day for work or school. It will match with every outfit because of its neutral design.

LiBerty NEAVE
The influencing industry isn’t new to Liberty Neave, she has followed in her mums footsteps and decided to take pride in her social media. She is a busy girl juggling her Business and Marketing University work with her social life, she enjoys scrolling through social media to see what other are up to and, like many of us, spending all her money of clothes. Over lockdown she has managed to grow her TikTok audience to 23k, go check out her cute spring styling and day trip videos. If your looking for inspiration this summer you definitely need to take a look. All around, Liberty is a hardworking girl who has strong beliefs when it comes to her influencing, she appreciates what brands are doing to be more sustainable and supports second hand shops. Keep an eye out for her when your scrolling through your phone! What made you want to become an influencer?

“Working in social media, seeing a lot of the behind the scenes due to my Mum also working in social media/influencing and also growing up and looking up to influencers on YouTube and Instagram it has always been something of interest to me! I love the creativity side of it, coming up with content ideas and mainly because I am obsessed with fashion and my outfits and so I am so grateful to work with fashion brands and showcase the latest trends and styles.”
would be with a brand I shop from organically regularly NastyGal, ASOS, Bershka or something similar. “
What are your favourite brands to shop at?
What is your biggest achievement?
“I love ASOS because of the variety on there and the fact they have Topshop, I love NastyGal a lot! I enjoy shopping in person in the high street Zara stores (the website is awful so has to be in store!!), Bershka, Stradivarius etc… I also get a lot of my clothes from my local charity shops - always brings me so much joy when I get a good find that I know I will get so much wear out of!”
“In terms of influencing probably growing my audience
What’s your favourite thing about being on
of 23k+ on TikTok :) but more generally probably managing to balance my work, influencing and a social life on top of my uni studies last year.”
What is your dream partnership? “My dream partnership would probably be to create an edit/or to be involved in the whole process and that
Instagram?
“I wouldn’t choose to buy from unethical brands whose morals and values don’t match my own”
“My favourite thing would be the conversations and connections it creates with people who you may have never met or known otherwise. Also from a work perspective love what it offers to brands and the audience they can build and reach.” What do you do to relax from your busy lifestyle?

Words: Eva McLennan, Images: @libertyneave Instagram
“Cuddle my dogs, read on my kindle (comes everywhere with me!), watch reality TV for the drama and play lots and lots of netball. I play netball for a local club and also for my university - around 6 times a week.”
What makes you stand out from other influencers? “Hmm this is a tough one as I think that the influencer world is a bit saturated/overwhelming with a lot of the same and I sometimes do fall into this too. However, I like to think that my unique position of seeing the behind the scenes and having a better understanding of how it works means I put together good bits of content for a brand, really meeting the brief.”
Do you have a genuine connection with the brands you work with? “Yes, working with Laura Ronnie Management means that the process is so smooth and easy, they also know who I would and wouldn’t work with - that I would only work with a brand who I genuinely use as I do influencing as a hobby on the side and to earn a bit more money (always needed as a student) but because I do it as a hobby I want it to be fun and therefore would only work on something that gets me genuinely excited!”
What are your values? And why? “Always be genuine, honest and as open as I can be (not too open on social media as there is a time and place and I think you have to be careful about what you do and don’t show), spread positivity and always, always, always BE KIND! To treat everybody with kindness. To not promote fast fashion trends too much (this is difficult as even though I am conscious of this it is sometimes hard to avoid). Try not to get hung up on what other people may think as this can sometimes take up too much space in my mind and effect how I behave or act on social media. Gratitude and appreciation is a big one for me as I always feel fortunate for the unique position I am in, whenever I start feeling down or doubting things I remind myself of how lucky I am and therefore how grateful I should be for any and all opportunities that come my way.”
Is it important for the brands you work with to match your values? “Definitely!!! Think comes hand in hand with the fact that if I work with a brand it would be a brand I would buy from anyway and I wouldn’t choose to buy from unethical brands whose morals and values don’t match my own.”
How as the pandemic affected the influencer industry for you? “Well for me I started to create little TikTok videos throughout the lockdowns out of boredom something I may not have done otherwise and that is what ignited the passion to create more by engaging with people on there and it just gave me an excuse to get dressed and put outfits together even in lockdown. The videos I created in this time are what helped build my audience to what it is now and so therefore the pandemic affected it
positively. Also, it was very evident that everyone was on their phones more and therefore social media content reached an even larger audience than before.”
Are you changing the way you work due to the pandemic? “Pre-pandemic I was working full time for a different company in social media marketing and I was going into the office 5 days a week and therefore had little to no time for influencing. Whereas now due to more flexibility and working a job I can do remotely my life has really changed and I can now plan my week very differently with a good balance of everything I want to do.”
Do you think since the pandemic people are being more environmentally conscious when they shop? “I wouldn’t say since the pandemic, but I would say recently there has been a change and many are making the effort to make more environmentally friendly decisions especially in what they consume. In terms of the fashion industry, many are now becoming aware of fast fashion and the detrimental effects of this and how even without realising we are tapping into fast fashion trends/buying clothes from fast fashion brands. There are lots of ways to fight this by buying second hand in charity shops, or on sites such as Depop and Vinted (both brands which I really support and would enjoying working with!), renting clothes is a good way to achieve a fast fashion trend or wear a one time out there piece without it being a waste of space in our wardrobes.”
What are your next steps? “My next steps are to finish my degree, continue working in social media marketing and constantly learning as social media is ever-evolving/constantly changing and therefore you can’t take a step back for one minute without missing something or needing to adapt. In terms of my personal social media, I would like to continue to share content and outfit inspiration, only ever working with brands which I am a fan of and also building an audience of like-minded individuals who I can chat to :)’”

headscarf Headscarfs are a brilliant way of changing an outfit, they support the idea of sustainable shopping as they can be worn multiple times to change the style of an outfit and make if feel new, not like something you have have just found in the back of your wardrobe. To create a classy put together look you can match the colours and textures of the scarf with the rest of your outfit, this monochrome style creates a blank canvas and allows you to dress the outfit up with embellishments like large earrings or a bold lip colour. Alternatively you can add colour to a monochrome outfit by adding another colour or pattern with the headscarf and matching it with the bag. Floral patterns tap into the garden party trends, as well as pastels to mirror the colours within nature. Pair with a loose fitting maxi dress and sandals for a relaxed picnic outfit, You will be seeing a lot more of headscarf in the summer, they are perfect for festivals. To get that party look try a patterned headscarf, even animal print. Find some funky sunnies to match and you are ready to groove. Everybody’s looking forward to beach days this summer, why not try a patterned swimming costume paired with a plain headscarf which is one of the colours from the pattern. Pick a mesh cover up that won’t clash with the colours and a simple woven tote bag for all your beach day essentials.

An interview with the founder of FINDS
One of the creators behind the new fashion resale site talks about their start up during the pandemic. Jemma Stacey and Carl Mustard are the founders of FINDS. Starting out they were only a marketplace who wanted to change the way consumers are shopping. They have understood the value that video now holds within the shopping communities today and created a fun interactive shopping experience for everyone enjoy whilst supporting circular fashion.
What is FINDS?
What are your values? And why?
“FINDS experience is centred around video, if Depop started 10 years ago inspired by Instagram we are inspired by TikTok. A difference is that we are only focused on female fashion where other resale apps aren’t and we are going to be building in features to measure and track sustainable impact.”
“Company values • Move fast • Use empathy • Strive for better • Learn & grow • Think big Collectively as a team we feel like these guiding values balance what it takes for a start up to be successful in a fast moving environment but also how we can stay competitive whilst still being thoughtful.”
Words: Eva McLennan, Images: @finds.world Instagram
Where did the inspiration come from? “I have personally been in the industry for many years and seeing the evolution of social commerce and what part video plays in social media. The natural next step is video commerce, it’s definitely a better buying experience when seeing items you want to buy and community driven commerce works really with this format. It’s engaging, transparent and more fun.”
How did you start up? “We raised a £600k VC funded pre-seed investment round in 2021 and we are building and launching into the market with these funds. “
How many people are on your team? “There are 8 permanent members of staff and 4 freelances so a team of 12.”
“the live stream element facilitates real time conversation between buyers and sellers”

Other than supporting circular fashion, what is your brand doing to be sustainable? “We have a sustainability strategy that we are putting in place as we launch that as a business means that we are carbon neutral by carbon offsetting. This involves measuring our carbon footprint and then taking measures to offset that. We are also going to be building in features to measure and track sustainable impact of our buyers and sellers.”
What makes finds.world stand out from others similar? “Two ways, the live stream element facilitates real time conversation between buyers and sellers and generally the short form video feature also feels like you are creating deeper connections as seeing people on video feels much more real than a static picture. We also build in social features around commenting and messaging as further ways to communicate. Beyond the features of the app the community is built for people who share a love for unique and expressive fashion which resale pieces are great for and we are trying to promote a positive and supportive community around this.”
Do you have anything exiting coming up? “Lots of exciting things. We are publicly launching, hosting many events and we will also be starting a team in the US. “
Where do you see your marketplace in a years time? “Successfully launched in the UK and preparing to launch in the US. “
What have been the struggles launching during a pandemic? “We have been very lucky, remote working has worked well for our company and resale shopping continues to grow in popularity. Launching has only had challenges doing in person events but otherwise we have been very fortunate not to be effected.”
