(재)한국공예·디자인문화진흥원 소개 (재)한국공예·디자인문화진흥원은 한국인의 일상은 물론 세계인이 공유할 수 있는 코리아 라이프 스타 일을 계승·확산하기 위해 설립한 문화체육관광부 소속 공공기관입니다. 공예가와 디자이너, 문화산업 전문가 등 문화예술계는 물론 학계와 산업계를 중심으로 한국인의 일상 속에서 공예와 디자인 문화를 누 릴 수 있도록 계기를 제공하는 것을 그 목적으로 하고 있습니다. 공예·디자인 관련 기관과의 긴밀한 네 트워크를 통해 연구, 전시, 교육, 출판 등 사업 영역을 확장하고 있습니다.

Korea Craft and Design Foundation (KCDF) Korea Craft and Design Foundation (KCDF) is a public agency under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism that seeks to continue and spread the Korean lifestyle that can be shared not only among Koreans but also the global community. The objective of KCDF is to provide opportunities to experience crafts and design culture in everyday lives, working with the members of the culture and arts circle including craftsmen, designers and cultural industry experts as well as the academia and industries. By establishing a close network with crafts and design-related institutions, KCDF is currently expanding its scope to research, exhibitions, education and publications.

공예디자인 상품개발 사업 한국의 전통 소재 및 공예 기법에 현대 디자인을 접목한 ‘공예디자인 상품개발 사업’은 심사 과정에서부 터 상품성을 고려하여 선발하였고, 참여 디자이너는 자문위원과의 끊임없는 연구와 보완 과정 끝에 대중 에 친근한 상품을 선보이게 되었습니다. (재)한국공예ㆍ디자인문화진흥원은 ‘공예디자인 상품개발 사업’을 통해 우리나라 공예 산업이 자생력을 기르고, 나아가 참신하고 경쟁력 있는 공예디자인 상품이 해외에서 인정받을 수 있기를 바랍니다. (재)한 국공예ㆍ디자인문화진흥원은 앞으로도 공예디자인 상품개발 사업의 지원에 더욱 앞장서겠습니다.

Craft & Design Product Development Project Products developed at the ‘Craft & Design Product Development Project’ combines Korean traditional materials and crafts techniques with contemporary design. They were chosen with marketability in mind from the judging stage. The participating designers were able to present products that are friendly to the public after continuous research with the advisory panel and complementation of their work. KCDF hopes that through ‘Craft & Design Product Development Project’, the Korean crafts industry will be able to flourish on its own and that Korean craft design products achieve recognition in the global community. KCDF will take the initiative in supporting the development of craft design products.

공예디자인 상품개발 과정 ‘2015 후반기 공예디자인 상품개발 사업’은 공예·디자인 관련 분야 종사자를 대상으로 한국 전통 소재 및 공예 기법을 활용한 공예디자인 상품을 개발하였습니다. 디자인, 유통, 상품개발 등 각 분야의 전문가 를 심사위원으로 선정하여 두 차례에 거쳐 심사를 진행하였는데, 1차 포트폴리오 심사로 40개의 상품을 선정하고 2차 실물상품 평가로 최종 9개의 상품이 선정되었습니다. 최종 상품으로 선정된 참가자들은 ‘공예디자인 상품개발 사업’의 프로그램 취지에 따라 자문위원과 4회 에 거쳐 워크숍을 진행하였고, 1차 워크숍에서는 국내외 공예디자인의 시장 규모와 진출 전략 파악 및 상품 경쟁력을 키워나갔습니다. 2·3차 워크숍에서는 상품의 완성도를 높이고 4차 워크숍에서는 포장 과 상품가격 등 협의를 통해서 다방면의 경쟁력을 높이고자 노력하였습니다. ‘공예디자인 상품개발 사업’ 에서 많은 노력과 고심 끝에 만들어진 공예디자인 상품이 좋은 반응을 얻고, 나아가 공예 산업 발전에 기 여할 수 있기를 바랍니다.

How Craft & Design Products are Developed ‘The Second Half of 2015 Craft & Design Product Development Project’ invited crafts and design experts to use Korean traditional materials and crafts techniques to develop craft design products. Experts in design, distribution, and product development served as judges for this project and two rounds of judging were subsequently held. In total, 40 products were chosen by evaluating artists’ portfolios during this first round of judging. In the second round, judges whittled this number down to 9 products after evaluating the actual products themselves. Later, each of the final 9 product designers held four workshops with members of the advisory panel in the spirit of the Craft & Design Product Development Program. During the first workshop, participants identified the size of the craft design market in Korea and overseas. They also made efforts to raise the level of product competitiveness. During the second and third workshops, they improved the completeness of the products, while in the fourth workshop they tried to strengthen competitiveness in many aspects after consultations regarding other elements, such as packaging and pricing. It is our sincere hope that craft design products made as part of the Craft & Design Product Development Project receive recognition and further contribute to the development of the Korean crafts industry.

토이킷 삭막함으로 가득찬 사무 공간을 조형적 놀이로 채운다. 칠교놀이와 문방사우에서 모티브를 얻어 개발한 <toikit >은 일상적 생활도구를 놀이의 도구로 확장한 것이다. 발상의 전 환을 통해 따분한 사무 생활에 조형적 재미를 더해보자.

toikit An office space replete with barrenness is filled up with formative play. The <toikit> developed based on the motifs of Tangram and “munbangsau,” or four friends in the study — hanji, brush, ink and ink stone is an extension of daily living instruments as those for play. A formative fun element has been added onto mundane office life through a paradigm shift.

아마란스 봄에는 노란 유채꽃과 벚꽃을 시작으로, 여름에는 보라색의 자주괭이밥, 가을에는 쑥부쟁이, 겨울에는 수선화 등이 핀다. 사계절, 우리 들판에서는 아름다운 꽃과 향기로 가득하다. 이 런 꽃들은 금수강산을 아름답게 수놓을 뿐만 아니라 우리의 마음 또한 소소한 감동을 준다. 한국에서 피어나는 아름다운 꽃을 이미지화한 ‘아로마디퓨져’ 와 ‘수저받침’은 주변 가까이 두는 일상의 소품이다. 한국의 꽃을 집안에 오래 두고 느끼고자 하는 바람으로 제작하였다.

amaranth Starting off with rape flowers and cherry blossoms in spring, purplish wood sorrels blossom in summer along with asters in autumn and daffodils in winter. Beautiful flowers and their aroma are everywhere on the fields throughout the four seasons in Korea. These flowers beautiful dot our land of beautiful scenary and touch our hearts with banal joy in our lives. ‘Aroma diffusers’ and ‘spoon and chopstick supporters’ are props commonly used in our daily lives. I created them with a wish to keep and cherish flowers inside a house for a long period of time.

플러스 네이처 한지 노트 <플러스 네이처>는 자연과의 교감을 통해, 인간 본연을 되돌 아 보고 따뜻한 감성을 찾는 경험을 전달하고자 한다. 플러스 네이처 한지 노트는 표지에 잎맥을 닮은 패턴이 돌출되어 있 어 자연의 질감과 촉감을 느낄 수 있는 제품이다. 라지/스몰 두 가지 규격이며, 줄지와 무지타입으로 구분되어 있다. 고요(미색), 정열(빨간색), 자연(수박색), 신비(남색) 4가 지 색상이 갖고 있는 의미를 각기 다른 패턴을 통해 표현하였 다. 간결한 디자인에 담긴 한지의 질감과 자연의 패턴을 직접 손으로 만지고 느낄 수 있다.

The <Plus Nature Hanji Notebook> is intended to convey an emotional experience, to discover heartwarming feelings, and to allow us to reflect on the inherent features of humanity by forging bonds with Nature. On the cover, it has a pronounced pattern analogous to leaf veins, enabling users to feel the texture and tactile sentiment of nature. It comes in two sizes, large and small, and also in ruled and plain. Different patterns are used to express different meanings of four colors: calmness(ivory), passion(red), nature(green), mystical(navy). In this way, the texture of Hanji(Korean traditional paper) and the pattern of nature contained in the simple design can be touched and felt.

색색조각 : 두겁과 갈피끈 색색의 천이 조화를 이룬 전통 조각보의 미적 감각을 모티브 로 현대적인 쓰임새를 더한 실용적인 디자인이다. 한국전통공예기법인, 규방공예, 전통자수, 전통매듭을 통해 한국의 멋을 알림과 동시에 일상 속에서 다양하게 그 쓰임새 를 더한 공예상품을 제안하고자 한다.

Rainbow Jogak Th e m o t i f o f t h i s w o r k i s t h e a e s t h e t i c i s m o f traditional patchwork replete with colorful pieces of cloth forming a great harmony, and pragmatic design has been applied to add on modern utilities. The Korean traditional beauty is shown through such traditional crafting techniques as boudoir craft, traditional embroidery and traditional knots. Craft products whose usages have been added in daily life are proposed as well.

Mate <Mate>는 데스크 오거나이저로, 과거 문방사우에서부터 이 어져온 ‘어른들의 유희를 위한 소품’이라는 개념에서부터 시 작되었다. 책상 위의 그저 단순한 정리함, 연필꽂이가 아닌,

직접 자신의 취향과 필요대로 다양한 구성을 만들 수 있도록 제작하였다. <Mate>는 컨테이너와 뚜껑으로 구성된 합의 형태이다. 컨테 이너는 각종 사무용품을 담는 용도이다. 뚜껑은 연필꽂이, 디 퓨져, 명함거치대, 콘향 합의 역할을 한다. 뚜껑과 컨테이너 는 모두 호환이 되기 때문에 컨테이너를 여러 층으로 쌓을 수 있고 원하는 뚜껑을 골라 다양한 구성을 만들 수도 있다. 또한 각각의 뚜껑과 컨테이너에는 여러 색으로 점 상감 되어 있어 원하는 색 조합을 만들어 낼 수도 있다. 이처럼 다양한 경우의 수로, 직접 선택하고 조합하는 소소한 재미를 제공하 려고 하였다.

<Mate> is a desk organizer, starting off from the concept of ‘a playful prop for adults’ which has been derived from the munbangsawu (“four friends of scholar’s studio”) of old days. It was created to come up with various compositions based on one’s taste and needs instead of serving as a mere organizer or a pencil holder. <Mate> is in a form combining containers and lids. A container is used to contain various stationeries, while the lid represents an add-on of a pencil holder, a diffuser, a name card holder and a corn incense holder. Lids and containers can be all compatible, so containers could be accumulated in many layers and various compositions can be formed by selecting the lids in demand. For each lid and container, point inlays are on in different colors to create a color combination. The intent of the work is to offer fun elements by selecting and combining them based on such diverse possibilities.

Moment of Us : for Senior 연결의 역할을 하는 장석(裝錫)을 모티브로 디자인한 제품이 다. 장석이 갖는 기능과 장식적 요소를 책상 위로 옮겨 다양 한 용도의 공예품으로 제작하였다. ‘시니어 층을 대상으로 한 탈부착 확대경 실버 목걸이’와 ‘황동 클립’, ‘황동 핀’ 등의 구 성은 문양에 따라 장수(長壽), 부(富), 강(康), 덕(德)과 같은 상징을 담고 있어 쓰임새는 물론 특별한 의미도 함께 할 수 있다.

Moment of Us : for Senior The design motif of the work is decorative metal used for connection. Functions and decorative elements of decorative metal have been transferred to a desk to come up with craftwork of various usages. Such compositions as ‘a detachable magnifier-attached silver necklace for seniors’, ‘brass clips’ and ‘brass pins’ symbolize longevity, wealth, comfort and virtue, so they not only have utilities but also special meanings attached.

데스크블록 <데스크블록>은 어릴 때 가지고 놀던 블록 장난감을 모티브 로하여 책상 위 다양한 물건을 재미있게 거치하기 위해 제작 되었다. 미니멀한 디자인은 금속이 가진 색감과 무게감을 살 리고 공감각적인 즐거움을 더한다. 하나의 오브제는 데스크 위에 작은 이야기를 만든다. 판넬 유닛의 추가와 레이저 각 인, 소재가 다른 금속으로 제품의 다양화를 추구하였다.

Deskblock <Deskblock> has its motif from block toys of childhood and has been created to mount various items on the desk. The minimal design exudes the color tones and the sense of weight of metal, and amplifies the multi-sensorial joy. One object creates a little story on the desk. Product diversification has been pursued by adding panel units, laser engraving and different types of metal.

복(福) 데스크 용품 한국의 색동을 이용하여 복(福)의 의미를 담은 그래픽 패턴을 제작하였다. 매일 마주하는 데스크 용품에 복(福)을 담아내어 일상의 행복을 주고자한다.

Bok Desk Goods Graphic patterns have been created that mean ‘bok’ by using rainbow stripes of Korea. The concept of bok is embedded in desk stationeries encountered every day to imbue banal happiness.
