Summer at Severn 2014
Welcome to Summer at Severn 2014 Summer at Severn 2014 will be one to remember! Dive into some of our exciting new opportunities and enjoy the quality programs that have made our camps worth returning to year after year. This summer’s opportunities extend across four major categories: day camp, community enrichment program, specialty camps and sports camps with extended hours available for most of our programs. Summer camps are available June 23 - August 1. Severn Day Camp has headlined Severn’s summer programs for over 40 years, and we look forward to another summer of fun and friendship. With a number of age-specific groups, Day Camp has much to offer for our preschool to Middle School campers. We are pleased and proud of our recent merger with Chesapeake Academy, resulting in a school that extends from preschool through grade 12. Severn School now has two campuses; Teel Campus located on Water Street in Severna Park, and just two miles down the road, Chesapeake Campus on Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard. The Day Camp program and our Extended Hours Program will be held at the Chesapeake Campus. The Specialty Camps and Community Enrichment Programs operate out of the Teel Campus.
The Community Enrichment program allows campers entering grades 5 through 8 to spend their mornings exploring the many service related projects in our community through a variety of on and off campus field trips. We have expanded our array of Specialty Camps for hands-on learning in areas such as robotics, chess and computer animation. New this year are: Mine Craft, Outdoor Adventure, Art and Nature, School of Rock and GarageBand. Read the new descriptions and find a specialty camp that will allow campers to explore their passions, or develop a new one. We invite novice and experienced athletes alike to learn and sharpen their skills in a challenging but instruction-rich environment at one of Severn’s Sports Camps with offerings that include lacrosse, soccer, field hockey, football and basketball. Sports camps are available June 15- August 1. Questions? Please contact the Summer Programs Director, Laurie Wachs at l.wachs@severnschool.com or 410.647.7701 2344.
Extended Hours Information: Extended hours are offered from 7:30 - 9:00 am and 3:00 - 6:00 pm at the Chesapeake Campus only. Registration may be for the morning, afternoon, or both. A limited number of drop-in spaces will be available each day for a fee of $12 per hour, payable on a daily basis. Drop off and pick up for the Extended Hours Program is located at Chesapeake Campus. In the morning, we will transport campers enrolled in camps on Teel Campus. In the afternoon, we will transport campers back to Chesapeake Campus for the Extended Hours Program. If not pre-registered for Extended Hours, campers who are brought to campus 15 minutes early or 15 minutes after camp, will be entered into the Extended Hours program. Parents will be billed the “drop-in” fee of $12 per hour. The Extended Day program ends promptly at 6 pm. If campers are not collected by 6 pm, parents will be billed an additional late fee of $40 per quarter hour after 6 pm. Families must pre-register and pre-pay for the Extended Hours plans. Times

Community Enrichment Program
Community Enrichment Program For campers entering grades 5-8 The Community Enrichment program costs $300 per week. Because there is no camp on July 4, the cost of that week is $260. As our program continues to grow, we are pleased that we will again offer our Commanders (grades 5-6) and Captains (grades 7-8) the opportunity to participate in Severn Day Camp’s Community Enrichment Program. Both groups have a limit of 12 campers per week. Those campers who choose to participate in our Community Enrichment Program will have the unique opportunity to discover one of Severn’s most valuable assets - it’s community! Campers will spend their mornings exploring the many service related projects our community has to offer through a variety of on and off campus field trips. Interacting and socializing with animals from a local rescue group, becoming stewards of the environment in the youth program at Quiet Waters Park, visiting residents at a nearby senior living facility and welcoming home military service members are a few of the opportunities that await Severn Day campers who choose to be a part of this vibrant program. Certificates of community service are presented to each camper with their total number of hours served. Upon returning to campus, campers will enjoy lunch followed by a daily trip to the local pool. We hope you join us for a summer of fun and rewarding opportunities.
