WHAT IS YOUR GREEN FUTURE? Your Green Future is an interactive event which engages hundreds of 12 to 18 year olds with the role of sustainability in the economy and what this could mean for their careers. It does this through a series of creative workshops which see students work with businesses to investigate the changing face of business, from local sustainable business models to cutting edge technologies.

IN SOLIHULL & BIRMINGHAM

From 2015 we have run 3 events at Solihull Collage and Conference Centre. These events have been extremely well received and in 2017 we engaged with: • 16 schools • 385 students • 35 teachers • 35 businesses These events are run in partnership with:

THE FUTURE In 2018 we are running another event on the 7th and 8th March at Solihull College Conference Centre. We aim to engage with around 500 students from at least 20 schools across Solihull and Birmingham. These students will have an opportunity to work with over 30 businesses including Interserve, Balfour Beatty and Jaguar Land Rover. The problem Whilst schools increasingly want to engage with businesses and attend the Your Green Future event they are struggling more and more with the costs of taking students out of school, notably with paying for transport and arranging teaching cover.

HOW ROTARY COULD HELP? To enable schools to attend this years event we would warmly welcome Rotary Clubs to support a local school by providing a bursary of ÂŁ200. This would help the school with transport or a supply teacher. Help could be given for one or more schools.

Rotary’s support will be recognised on event materials. If your Rotary Club would like to learn more about Your Green Future or are interested in providing a bursary then please contact the event organiser Karen Robinson on karenr@severnwye.org.uk or 01452 835060.
