• Swim Basics (Stage 1, 2 and 3) develops personal water safety and basic swimming skills in students of all ages. Swimmers develop a high level of comfort in the water by practicing safe water habits, engaging in underwater exploration, and learning how to swim to safety and exit if they fall into a body of water. • Swim Strokes (Stage 4) introduces and refines the stroke technique. Having mastered the fundamentals, students learn additional water safety skills and build stroke techniques, developing skills that prevent chronic disease, increase social-emotional and cognitive well-being and foster a lifetime of physical activity. We will continue to offer one free swim lesson, (includes pre-school and youth lessons) per the calendar year for 2020 for each child under 12 and on an active Family membership. Additional lessons will be charged at the member rate for children on active Family memberships. Participants must register for the free lesson at the YMCA or over the phone. Online registration for the free lesson is unavailable at this time, and refunds will not be provided. Youths on youth or teen memberships may sign up at the member rate but are not eligible for the free lesson. Members $45 Non-Members $90

LITTLE NINJAS Ages: 3-5 This class for preschoolers utilizes the Y’s indoor soft obstacle course to help children develop confidence and gross motor skills while enjoying supervised play with others. HOME SCHOOL GYM
Grades: 1 - 6 This program returns to support our home school families and will be held on Tuesdays from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Large Gym beginning on Sept. 15. This program runs from Sept. 14 to Oct. 28. This class will be limited to 10 participants to ensure the safest environment. Children must have completed kindergarten in order to register. Ages: 7-12 Runners, take your mark! This popular program will begin on Sept. 14 and will give kids the opportunity to participate in a supervised running group using the trails and neighborhood near the YMCA on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Grades: 1 - 6 This new program is designed to give kids a half-day camp experience on Saturdays. Kids will explore the outdoors, play games, learn new skills and swim. It runs from Sept. 19-Oct. 31. Participants will enjoy a variety of exercises done in deep water while using float belts. Participants must be comfortable in deep water and able to swim without aid. This class will improve cardiovascular health and tone arms, legs and abs with high energy music to start the day. For those anticipating/recovering from knee or hip surgery, this class focuses on strengthening the muscles that support the knees and hips with additional focus on core and posture. This class helps improve muscle strength, making your recovery more comfortable. BBB is also a great way to continue strengthening and stretching the muscles after your incisions have healed. If you are experiencing knee or hip pain, this class will allow you to exercise with little or no discomfort as waist-high water reduces body weight by 50%.
