Counselor in Training Counselor In Training (CIT) is for teens 15-18 years of age and rising 10th-12th grade students, and is a work-oriented, leadership program which gives teens an opportunity to assist College For Kids instructors during the two-week CFK summer camps. Applications are due by May 6. CIT’s must be available to attend mandatory training from Noon - 4 p.m. on June 15. CIT’s receive leadership training and earn 80 volunteer hours. Tuition: $90 per two-week camp session

Puppy Socialization

About the Instructor — Laura Nemmers is a collection management and registration consultant providing collections care services to museums, historical societies, archives, libraries, and galleries. Ms. Nemmers has over ten years of experience working in museums and served as the Registrar at the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art at the University of Florida. She has provided consultation on collection plans, policymaking, exhibitions, preservation and collection storage. She has a Master’s in Museum Studies from the University of Florida and a BA in Art History from Florida State University.

Fly Tying For Florida Waters - Part 2
Building upon the basic techniques learned in the beginners class, learn to tie flies of more complexity. All About Soups
In this class students will observe the instructor prepare fresh soups from scratch and listen as descriptions and a discussion is had on the structure of each recipe. Usually, three different types of soups are created and each soup is tasted by all students in class. Paddle the Silver River which drew throngs of well-heeled adventure seekers in the 19th and 20th century. The lush, sub-tropical river forests were the setting for several Tarzan movies. Descendants of wild cast members—rhesus monkeys—still live along the river.

This class will focus on life in Gainesville from 1903 and the next fifty years. You may drop a class and receive a full refund by calling the Community Education office DURING THE FIRST TWO WEEKS OF THE COMMUNITY EDUCATION TERM for any class 2 weeks or longer in length. For shorter classes, you must drop the class at least 2 business days before the class begins to receive a refund. After that, you must fill out a petition for refund. See website for refund policies. You will receive a refund check in the mail in approximately 3—4 weeks. Your credit card account will NOT be credited for the amount.
