SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT Norman social development forms an integral part of Christian education. But students and school work are endangered by accelerating natural development. Parents and students should, therefore, be mindful of these important policies: Dating.

Students ARE NOT REQUIRED to have a 11 date" to attend any social ac In fact, individual tivity at 0 1 Gorman. dating is discouraged. Group activities are more in keeping with the normal course of development during high school years. Frequent, exclusive dating, or without the intention hope of marriage within the reasonably near future, is a serious moral danger and un necessary occasion of sin. Going steady in high school is an abuse, since there is no question of it being an immediate prepara tion for marriage. Alonr 1r.rith moral theo logians, 0 1 Gorman condemns such abuses and rigidly opposes the practice on very grave moral grounds.

Going Steady

Students who insist on going steady in defiance of this policy vd.11, after due warning, become subject to disciplinary ac tion. This may include being removed from all school activities, deprived of honors, awards, and--if need be--denied the Drivi lege of attending 0 1 Gorman High School. 30
