Welcome to South Carolina Agritourism! Agritourism is a unique experience that takes South Carolina’s number one industry, agriculture, and combines it with South Carolina’s second industry, tourism, to create one fun-filled and memorable experience!

Agritourism is agriculture based activities that bring people to farms, ranches, or other agricultural settings. Agritourism happens all year long on farms that incorporate pick-your-own fruit operations, farm tours, animal displays/demonstrations, ATV and bike trails, bird watching, disc golf, farm to table meals, farm work experience, fishing, photography, gardening experiences, horseback riding, military reenactments, skeet shooting, vineyard/wine tastings, birthday and wedding parties, museums, hayrides, pumpkin patches, haunted maze/hayride, corn mazes, and the list goes on and on. Farms are popular with families as well as school groups, youth/church groups, tour groups, corporate groups, and special needs groups. South Carolina is home to many agritourism sites that are open for the public to enjoy! Whether you’re looking to find your way out of a complicated corn maze, or simply relax and take in the beautiful scenery South Carolina has to offer, agritourism has something for everyone of all ages! Visit SCfarmfun.org to plan your farm fun!

South Carolina Agritourism Association

Agritourism farms in South Carolina face many challenges. To help, the South Carolina Department of Agriculture has formed the South Carolina Agritourism Association (SCAA). This group enables agritourism farmers to network with their peers, find answers to challenges, and share best practices. They work together to find solutions to such issues as admission tax and liability insurance. Agritourism offers a means to draw tourists into the more rural areas and presents a unique opportunity for farmers to develop and implement an agritourism strategy. Farms aren't just for food any more. With the local food movement growing, farmers are putting a price tag on more than organic tomatoes. They are instead marketing and selling the “farm experience” in the form of agritourism attractions. 1
