2020 In unprecedented times, Santa Fe-area high school graduates shined
T
he Class of 2020 will be remembered for a senior year — and an experience — unlike any other. Its members were deprived of the opportunity to compete for individual accolades and state championships. They couldn’t bust a move at the prom. They couldn’t even hug one another goodbye at graduation. But through a frightening worldwide pandemic, they gained — and deserved — a unique reason to celebrate. The students who made it to the finish line are survivors. And in 2020, that is a badge of honor — one worthy of hanging next to their diplomas. The New Mexican pays tribute to a special class with a 24-page special section, intended to honor the hard work of Northern New Mexico students who found a way to endure and thrive through adversity.
