Great Room, River House

There is nothing like fly fishing in the Colorado

Rockies. Smith Fork Ranch is uniquely blessed with three miles of its own river‌five stocked trout ponds‌a mountain stream that is only one of two habitats in the state for a rare A-strain Colorado Cutthroat. On top of that, SFR sits closer to more Gold Medal fishing water than any other five star destination in Colorado.

4.

Share the experience of hiking in the Gunnison National forest with your friends or family. Explore the back country on mountain bikes.. Enjoy the camaraderie of our friendly and experienced SFR guides. Challenge yourself shooting sporting clays with the stunning back drop of the Colorado Rockies. All can be a part of your vacation adventure at Smith Fork Ranch.

A visit to the north rim

of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park , just 30 minutes from the ranch, is an unforgettable experience. Refresh your skills at our archery course. Or simply enjoy a morning in our farmstead, picking vegetables for your dinner and later, take a refreshing dip in our swimming pond. Your choices are endless.

We invite you to relax and enjoy the leisure of a Colorado afternoon or early evening bird watching from the porch of your cabin or the veranda of the guest house. Take a nap in a hammock next to a pond, indulge in our signature herbal massage at our massage outpost overlooking Second Creek. Soak in a hot tub, or just enjoy a glass of wine with friends on the lodge deck as the setting sun leaves its Alpenglow on the mountains. Time to revitalize!
