Seoul Foreign School - Pre-K 2 Class Frequently Asked Questions What are your grade/age levels? Our Pre-Kindergarten 2 program is for children who will turn two years old by August 31.

What is the class size? Our maximum class size is 14 children with one teacher and two teaching assistants in the Pre-Kindergarten 2 class.

What are your beginning and ending dates? For the 2016-17 school year, the first day of school is August 16, 2016 (with August 13 being registration day), and the last day of school is June 2, 2017.

What curriculum do you offer? We use an international, inquiry-based approach influenced by the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Reggio Emilia philosophy. We are an IB PYP Candidate School. After completing the Pre-K 2 program, parents have two options for continuing their learning journey at Seoul Foreign School: the PYP in the Elementary School or the English National Curriculum (ENC) in the British School.

Do you offer a lunch/snack program? We offer a hot lunch program, but parents need to pack a nutritious snack each day.

What specialist lessons do you offer? Our “Music and Movement� lessons are taught by an early years specialist teacher, who visits once per week to lead this engaging class.


Where do your teachers come from? Our teachers come from a variety of countries and have significant experience teaching in international schools around the world. We hire exceptional teachers with relevant training, experience and early childhood expertise.

Do you have a dress code? We do not require uniforms.

What are your school hours? • Partial day from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm • Full day from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Are parents involved in school activities? We welcome and appreciate parent involvement for special events, field trips, parent workshops, and classroom visitation days.


What school supplies do i need to provide? A detailed list will be provided to all parents but the general requirements are: a sturdy backpack, a reusable snack/lunch container, a reusable water bottle, and a change of clothes including underwear, socks, and shoes.

Do you offer after-school activities? SFS runs an extensive after-school program for children. The majority of these programs are for Elementary School children in grades 2-5 starting at 3:15 pm, lasting for approximately one hour, so offerings for younger students are limited.

When is your Open House? We typically host two Open House events per year (one in the fall and another in the spring), but personal visits/tours are encouraged and may be requested any time during the year.
