Sonnet 1: Friends

Over the mountains and through the fields Our friendship will never cease to be strong, And when you are deep in troubling times I will always be there to help guide you along. Through the past and into the present We always will care deeply for each other, And when our days become unpleasant, We can trust and rely on one another. When old friends are replaced by new We may struggle to understand, But when those new friends turn on you I will be there to answer your demands. And although our friendship has had its faults, We have faced them together – like adequate adults.
