Ray Wood of Hot Club Sandwich shows off some impressive skills on the fretboard at last weekend’s street fair. Melissa Logan, left, of Seattle, and her sister Asha Logan of Eugene, Ore., twirl in the lavender fields at Jardin du Soleil on July 21 during the Lavender Farm Faire.

Glass artists Judy Ugalde, center, and Marcia Hildebrand only hit the road for one event a year: Sequim’s lavender weekend. The mother and daughter say it’s worth it because they have friends in the Sequim area. “And,” Ugalde added, “there are good people here.”

Quilcene sisters Trillium, left, and Sholena, choose the very prettiest of the smooth glass pieces during Lavender in the Park. The event, held adjacent to the band shell, featured dozens of vendors from near and far.

Misty the Clown (Chris Goff) and “Harriet” put a big smile on Isadora Brogan, 5, at Sunshine Herb & Lavender Farm, while her mother, Katie Brogan, captures the moment. At left is Mary Anne Brogan, Isadora’s grandmother. They came from Olympia and Seattle for their first Sequim Lavender Weekend and want to make it a two-day trip next year.
