Sol Duc Hot Springs Writing Contest In Celebration of 100 Years

The Mineral Hot Springs at Sol Duc have been around for much longer than 100 years! With a rich history and exciting future, there is so much to tell about Sol Duc Hot Springs. What can you tell us about Sol Duc Hot Springs?

Guidelines : We will only consider original essays and

poems written by students 9-13 years old. Essays should be between 200 and 2,000 words, and writing must relate in some way to Sol Duc. Essays may be fiction or non-fiction. Feel free to include photos, though it is not required.

Examples: • Tell us the history of the Sol Duc Hot Springs. • Describe a time when you visited Sol Duc Hot Springs. • What is the geology of hot springs, and what does that mean for Sol Duc? • Write a fiction story relating to the Sol Duc Hot Springs. • What do dragons have to do with Sol Duc Hot Springs?

Program members pay a one-time “Summer Registration Fee” of $50 + the “Program Member” price for the program. The registration fee is per family and allows access to all summer programs. • Mini Sports Camp: If your budding superstar is looking to increase his/her sports skills and learn about the values of teamwork and sportsmanship, then mini sports camp is your next stop. Sports include soccer, basketball, and baseball. • Super Hero Training: Does your pre-schooler want to be faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound? Art Classes

Imaginations will run free! Creativity will soar to new heights! Children need to be encouraged and presented with challenges, register your child and see where structured lessons in art may lead them. SARC is excited to offer this month long program utilizing multiple medias; including but not limited to: scratchboard, clay, paints, and prints. The class will work on one project every two classes or one project a week, please communicate with the instructor if there are classes you cannot make. This program will make kids look forward putting on their special dress-to-make-amess gear!
