NICHOLAS WARNER - TREASURER
The career numbers man has finally done the sums to land the Treasurer role at our beloved Hockey Section. Nick has been at the heart of the SCC Men’s 1st XI defence since joining the club some six years ago. Possessing a rare quality of deriving great amount of joy defending rather than scoring, the Club has appreciated his presence. Our funds are certainly going to be well looked after by this father of a beautiful girl.

PAUL TOPFER – MEN’S SOCIAL SECRETARY
Paul has been a livewire since joining our Club in 2019. Bringing with him loads of experience, the Australian technology, energy and utilities executive also packs a punch and a half on the humour front. The witty goal scorer extraordinaire is a perfect fit for the Social Secretary role. He thoroughly enjoys a laugh, some bites and a drink (even if it’s Heineken Zero) but not more so than sharing the same with fine company such as the people of the Hockey Section.
ABIGAIL RHODES – LADIES’ SOCIAL SECREATRY
The talented Abi has brought a lot of colour and design to the Section. The English graphic designer designed our latest kit and probably will have a hand in the new one too. The highly sociable goal scoring left half is always in the right place to make a party come alive; who better to deliver many memorable socials (when we can have them) for our adoring Section Members.
JEREMIAH THONG – JSM REP
One of the factors in our Section’s prowess on the hockey pitch has been our youth development. Managing the highly busy lifestyles of the younger Members is tricky and complex. Our Section Committee have always dedicated a person to look after these valuable Members and Jere has done this amicably well over the last two season. Jere also is the official assistant coach of our teams and he has built many strong bonds with our juniors, ensuring that many of them have converted into Ordinary Members when the time came. Another one of our Men’s 1st XI defence stalwarts, the 30+ year old enjoys coaching a little more than playing these days.
BALA CHANDRAN | PHILIPP FARENHOLTZ | JULIAN MICHAEL | NATSUKO YOSHIKI – COMMITTEE MEMBERS
Bala stood down from his secretary position as he wanted to pave the way for new blood to take over. His timely council is always appreciated as his goalkeeping skills when needed. Bala, who is a lawyer, is also an avid football fan that enjoys a kick around on the Padang and seeing Spurs do well in the Premier League. However, he sleeps better knowing that our SCC hockey teams always have a better chance of success in the top flight than the Hotspurs. Philipp is new to the committee and has been very involved in the Section’s activities. From attending all the AGMs since he has joined and many of the training sessions, the international investment professional has weathered the pandemic storm better than most because of the hockey he could play at the immaculate Padang. The German will assist the Section with fund raising for events and attracting new Members to the Section. Julian has been on the committee a number of years and he has contributed in many areas of the Section’s work. The young lawyer will be looking after social media presence and assisting the Secretary and Social Secretaries in their work. Equipped with a razor sharp wit, Julian has committed to delivering a class act on the hockey pitch in the near future. Natsuko is amongst our quietest Section Members, but the seasoned banking professional is loudest on the hockey pitch. A very busy woman but she always makes the time to come to training and has been helping on the social front and will continue to do so. The charming Japanese utility player has been asked to fill many positions on the pitch and she does it with her unmistakable smile each and every time (seen before COVID-19 times)
INTEKHAB KHAN – PAST CONVENOR (CO-OPTED)
Ever since becoming the convenor five years ago, Inte has thoroughly enjoyed his ride in the Hockey Section. Leaving behind his hockeyplaying days the lawyer has gotten his hand dirty on the administration front. He agreed to be co-opted to assist the Section in delivering meaningful experiences for all our Members. Despite enjoying playing football more these days, Inte always keeps an eye on the hockey and played a telling part in bringing The Hockey SCChool to fruition.
