The 2nd round of the Pre-Season Ladies League 2020 got off to a soaring start with all four of our teams securing wins during the first two weeks of the league – only to have preparations abruptly suspended by the Covid-19 situation.

Down but not out. During the circuit breaker period, the Netball Section is keeping spirits up by doing a variety of virtual activities including Friday drinks, workout challenges and exercise inspiration videos. To keep it competitive, our players have also been sharing daily workout routines and participating in our Section’s weekly challenges. These challenges kicked off with a lateral agility round, with Jasmine Smith taking out the crown for Challenge #1 with a grand total of 309 points.
Challenge #2 saw everyone participating in the “Split Step Reaction” agility challenge, with Laura Heyworth taking the crown, coming in with a score of 120. We also introduced a cook-off/bakeoff challenge which saw our team showcase their off-court skills. Some worthy dishes and contenders from Gen Chase, Anushree Prasad, Ranjini Visvalingam, Nanthini Viknesh, Chrisney Smith (Jasmine’s mum) among others were notable standouts. With six more week of circuit breaker measures to go at this time of writing, we are looking forward to the next few challenges.

our juniors (no drinks for them!) joining in for a social call. There is also a Section quiz and other initiatives in the pipeline so keep an eye out! The team also brainstormed and came up with an “SCC Bingo” sheet for fun and as a way to look forward to the Club reopening to check off more boxes for themselves.
