Weekly Committee Reports Tuesday, March 24, 2015 Executive Committee: Magis Scholarship Initiative -

Pres Bravo submitted an editorial piece to THE PHOENIX in support of the Magis Scholarship Initiative and the vote coming up this week. Pres Bravo will also be presenting at the forum titled, “How Can Universities Better Serve Undocumented Students?” scheduled for Wednesday, March 25th at 4PM in Cuneo Hall 002 o He extends an invitation to each of you to be in attendance!

Chief Community Relations Officer, Maura Rocks -

CCRO Rocks is in continued conversations with the members of the Student Community Board, Mary Miro from Community Relations, a representative from Alderman Moore’s office, and a representative from the Rogers Park Business Alliance to pursue the development of a hand-painted mural within the Rogers Park Community. CCRO Rocks is currently seeking internal SGLC funds from committees/executive budgets that will not be spent by the end of the term to support this mural project. If you are interested in supporting the cause with remaining SGLC funds, please contact CCRO Rocks & CFO Chitkuer as soon as possible.

Academic Affairs Committee: -

Last day to drop with a W is Monday, March 23 Tabling March 25, 3-5PM and March 26, 1-4PM outside the IC. Stress balls on the way

Allocations Committee: -

The Allocations Committee has SBR's this weekend, March 28th and 29th. We have over 100 budget requests.

Facilities and Transportation Committee: -

Senator Shah will conclude her project at Tuesday's meeting with her second reading and vote on the environmental legislation for construction on campus. Once it gets passed or rejected we will decide how to proceed from there. Senator Syed is trying to work with the Transportation director about 8-RIDE and tabling, possibly when a new senate comes in. Senator McNelis will have guidelines and policy written up by the end of this week for student storage space on campus to go into effect ASAP.

Justice Committee: -

Just Leasing and Trade Project: Next step is to develop the scorecard. Jesuit Just Employment Policy: See work being done with Employee Outreach Committee. In addition to that, we will start raising awareness around the hotel and the issue of unions. Employee Outreach Committee: Please take the time to sign up for a worker breakfast, check out our Facebook page and website, and sign our petition! Metropolis: So excited for this!
