INTRODUCTION being an illustrator is not just about creating good art. There is also an art to being a successful illustrator. i think i read somewhere that, “illustration is a stealthy sport. to win you need hunter’s instinct...you have to lure your prey with exquisite work.” ever since i joined a job at a media and consultancy company, i couldn’t find time for creating my own stuff. stuff that is meant for myself, or my shop online, or even just to improve my portfolio. this year (2020), though in such chaotic time, i decided to take on any drawing challenge available in order to improve my skills and my knowledge.
100 Days of sketching this challenge was set by kesh (an illustrator, artist and video producer from india). 100 days of sketching is a challenge where you draw everyday for 100 days based on prompts for atleast 6 minutes a day. Simple, isn’t it? i did this challenge for pure motivation of creating somethiing new everyday to a point where it comes into habit. i did loads of research and took lot of inspiration/references from all over the internet. the challenge began in may and lasted
for about 3 months or so. the point of this challenge is to be consistent with the work that you are putting in, in hopes of getting better at what you do. beginning is the hardest part of doing something and once you make that starting point simpler and managable, the goal you intent to reach looks a lot easier. If i can point one thing out about this challenge that it allowed me to find my style of illustration with massively improving my craft then it would be the act of showing up consistently day in and out. I am passionate about illustration and design itself, and this passion has been translated into this small illustrated book containing all of my 100 artworks made during this challenge. Hope you like them!!!

note So on 08.08.2020 i finished with the 100 days official challenge/competition. first of all, thank you @keshrt and @xppen_india for setting this up. it has been fun as much as it has been educational. it has helped me develop my styles and learn few more tricks. it was challenging at times to come up with something for every prompt but that’s what made it more exciting. thank you to everyone who have liked or followed me and my work over past 3 months for this challenge. i really appreciate it. lastly, thank you to all the other artists who have inspired me to create my artwork. i drew few original work and some via references or inspirations available on pinterest or google images. it was a good feeling to work on my own personal project for a change and this digital look book is the outcome of that. i look forward to what’s next!!!
