I like to use a variety of different perspectives to analyze this world. Looking for common ground with each other to establish an interactive.
I want to be a industrial designer who can create product that is not only functional, but also stylish and environmentally sustainable. I believe master program in Industrial Design can help me to achieve this goal. Though I have worked more toward engineering side of production, I always hope to improve my knowledge and creativity in product design. With my talent and deep interest in art, I am confident that I can learn from the experts to utilize the knowledge of art, engineering, manufacturing, software modeling, user experience and business aspects in product design.
Working as an R&D engineer has also led me to realize the importance of communication and presentation using visual graphics. At Ledlink, we needed to discuss our optical designs with our customers to get their approval. However, most of the other R&D engineers only provided datasheet, that were difficult to understand for the customers who were not engineers. I was the first in my company to present my lens design with a visual graphic of the simulated lighting environment using DiaLux software. The customers were very impressed and I became the popular presenter in the company.
I have showed my natural artistic talent at young age. When I was in highschool, I was appointed as the the chair of students art committee. My unique design and wall painting won the school competition. In later year, my logo design also won the national award and has been selected to be the official logo for my school till today.
Because of my initiative to improve communication with customers, my company sent me to attend the 2013 Hong Kong International Lighting Fair, where I encountered many first class lighting design manufactures around the world. It was a shocking and eye opening experience which inspired me to become a designer.
My Physics degree had trained me to challenge the norm and to analyze with keen observation, which not only have benefited me in later career development, but also have prepared me to think as a designer. After college, I worked for Ledlink as an optical lens engineer for three years. During my work experience, I have learned the whole process of producing optical components, from sales, product design, moulding, to mass production of the final product. I had noticed in many cases, in order to accomplish the design, we had to make the moulding with many small angular and asymmetrical components for assembly line, which could easily cause production error and increase unnecessary production time. These observations motivated me to design a more slick and symmetrical lens by improving the optical structure. The new design not only looked more stylish, but it also needed much less components to assemble. This resulted in increasing production quality and efficiency, as well as decreasing production parts and cost.
Soon I joined the AIC design school in Taiwan to further my learning in the field of industrial design, where I grasped the usage of many design softwares and showcased some of my works in SongShan cultural park. I also volunteered to plan for Taiwan Designers’ Week event. There I met many designers and embraced many new concepts, such as to repurpose used materials, to design for green and sustainable products and to preserve Chinese culture in design. I would like to become an influential designer and my creation can spread my belief in sustainable products and culture heritage. I look forward to meet people with similar passion, make friends from different culture around the world, to exchange ideas and learn from each other.

How it works? We visited a successful exhibition. And to observe all the details of the exhibition. A good chair design exhibition. We need to consider space allocation, space plan, lighting configuration, stand design and route plans. And then, we started planning our exhibition projects.

Diamond Lens
This is a set of optical lens design. Customers want me to design the lamps for jewelry display. This case uses the LED light source and the dimension is limited. Lighting effects must be focused and uniform. I designed a set of lenses, it looks looks like diamonds, and with that holder can meet optical conditions and solve the problem of space limitations.
LOGO DESIGN

Three colors denote the ocean, passion and speed. In 2003, I designed a logo to celebrate the anniversary of a cross-country road race in Keelung High School. The logo won the National High School Games champion. My alma mater still use my design as Games logo so far.
