I’ve never been that big on “networking” Don’t get me wrong, I like parties and having fun, but making small talk with strangers scares the crap out of me. But sometimes, as I’ve learnt recently, good things can come from meeting new peeps.

At a recent event, I met a great lady by the name of Victoria Black, and she was telling me about this amazing new diet she’d founded with some of Australia’s leading experts. I was hooked straight away – and so our SuperFastDiet special in this week’s issue was born (see page 56).

Well, on top of clean eating and regular workouts with PT fiancé Tim Robards, Anna’s also a part-time faster! “I’ve been doing a bit of intermittent fasting,” Anna, 31, says of her typical diet. “So, I won’t get up and have breakfast straight away – I have it around 11am or 12pm, which I guess is lunch or brunch! I don’t do that every single day – some days I get up and am a lot hungrier than others, but when I do, I find I have just as much energy and can still tackle the day.”

The 2-day Method

HOW DO I DO IT? The basic premise of the SuperFastDiet 2-day Method is to eat normally five days a week, then restrict your calories two days a week to a quarter of your normal intake. You can choose what days work best for you, but Mondays and Thursdays are popular options.

So, what is a “normal intake”?

Most women stick to less than 500 calories (2092 kJ) per day on a fast day and less than 2000 calories (8368 kJ) on a non-fast day. Of course, you don’t have to eat your way through that much if you feel fuller on less! For men, the average is up to 600 calories (2510 kJ) on a fast day and up to 2400 (10,042 kJ) on a non-fast day.

To get a more accurate allowance for you, you’ll need to calculate your TDEE – Total Daily Energy Expenditure, which is the number of calories your body burns over a 24-hour period based on your sex, height, weight and weekly physical activity (calculate yours at superfastdiet.com/TDEEcalculator/).

WHAT DO I EAT? Well, you could go and eat a chocolate bar and blow all your calories at once, but you’ll be in for a pretty hungry fast! What really matters here is getting value for calories consumed...

HOW DO I DO IT? With this one, the aim is to eat normally four days a week, then restrict your calories on the remaining three days to half of your normal intake. Again, you can be flexible with the fasting days that you choose as it’s about fitting into your lifestyle, but Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays tend to work well on this plan. The 3-day Method spreads out the caloric reduction

over more days, making it an easier and better option for those who aren’t keen on doing a 500-calorie day.

On fast days, you can have up to 1000 calories (4184 kJ) and up to 2000 calories (8368 kJ) on your non-fast days. For men, it’s 1200 (5021 kJ) and 2400 (10,042 kJ) respectively.

Again, work out your TDEE to get the most accurate food allowance for you!

The Part-day Method

HOW DO I DO IT? This part-day approach involves fasting part of each day for 16 hours, and restricting your daily “eating window” to eight hours.

Within this eating window, you can fit in two, three or more meals at no more than 1600 calories (6694 kJ) overall.

With this method, fasting can be as simple as not eating after dinner, or skipping breakfast.

For instance, if you eat your last meal at 8pm and then don’t eat until 12pm the following day, you’ve fasted for 16 hours between meals!

For people who get hungry first

thing and don’t like to skip breakfast, you can easily reverse this method – eat a hearty breakfast and lunch, finish with a snack at 4pm, and then fast until breakfast the next day.

To help reduce your hunger levels, water, coffee and other zero-calorie beverages can be consumed during the fasting periods. Phew!

What days work best? Many fasters find doing this method most days of the week is easy to keep up longer term, but feel free to have a rest day or two, depending on what gives you the best results.

Method • Heat a small frying pan over a medium heat, add the chicken mince, stock, lemongrass, fish sauce, spring onion and cook for five minutes or until the mince is dry and cooked.

• Remove from heat, fold through carrot, bean sprouts and coriander.

• Serve in lettuce cups and finish with a squeeze of lime juice.

COCONUT CURRY FISH FILLET Serves 1, Prep time: 5 mins Cooking time: 15 mins • 1 firm white fish fillet (200g) – try ling, trevally, barramundi or snapper • 1 tsp curry powder • juice ½ lemon • oil spray • 1 tbsp lite coconut milk

3-DAY METHOD DINNER

• 1 gluten-free wrap • 1 tbsp of avocado • 10g rocket • ½ tomato, sliced • 1 hard-boiled egg, sliced

Method Method • Place the thyme sprig on top of the chicken breast.

Wrap the chicken with the prosciutto and place onto a baking tray lined with baking paper.

• Grill under a preheated grill on medium for five minutes on each side or until tender and cooked through.

• Cook the peas in a small pan of boiling water until bright green and soft, drain well.

• Add the mint, feta and a little of the feta oil. Season with salt and pepper.

• Place the wrap onto a clean work surface.

Spread wrap with avocado, top with the rocket, tomato and sliced egg • Wrap up and serve!

ap queen Cardi B has been snatching headlines, mag covers and Grammy nominations ever since she dethroned Taylor Swift from the top of the charts back in September!

Born Belcalis Almanzar and rebranded after a bottle of Bacardi (yep, we’re serious), Cardi first found fame on reality show Love & Hip Hop: New York in 2015, while also building herself up as a social media star on the side, thanks to her comedy skits and sexy pics.
