Since hybrid instruction is new for Kennedy Catholic faculty, we will make periodic adjustments to the school calendar to provide teachers with additional professional development and planning time. Professional development will focus on teaching in a hybrid/online environment.

If, and when, students return to campus, they will be grouped into static cohorts based on last name to allow for better contact tracing should it ever become necessary. Each cohort contains approximately 25% of the student body.

COHORT 1 – last name begins with A-E

COHORT 2 – last name begins with F-L

COHORT 3 – last name begins with M-Q

COHORT 4 – last name begins with R-Z Once students are allowed to return to campus, each cohort will cycle through a full rotation of courses over two days. During this time on campus, we will emphasize the procedures and protocols to stay healthy and safe. This first phase of the Lancer Hybrid Learning Plan will last two weeks.

After the two-week orientation period is over, Cohorts 1 and 2 will combine to attend classes in-person Mondays and Tuesdays. Cohorts 3 and 4 will combine to attend classes in-person two days a week on Thursdays and Fridays.

It is unlikely that Kennedy Catholic will be able to accommodate requests to shift cohorts, except in cases of hardship or unique circumstances. If you wish to request a cohort placement exception, please submit a request in writing to burnsk@kennedyhs.org no later than October 23, 2020.
