PBF Chair’s Message
Dear Parent/Guardian, As the Chairman of Prime Bank Foundation, the Corporate Sector Responsibility (CSR) wing of Prime Bank Limited, I congratulate the teachers and students of Prime Bank English Medium School (PBEMS) for successfully bringing out their first Yearbook. I request the reader to go through our publication to gain a better perspective of our activities and achievements. PBEMS is now a large family with all its students and staff; along with our existing two branches, we hope to cater to every strata of the society with a third branch in the near future. We are proud to say that the overall response from parents and students alike has encouraged us profusely and helped us achieve our goal in providing wholesome education through the interactive method. We are steadily moving towards shaping a generation which is affluent not only in their mother tongue, but also in a second language-English. These young citizens will be professionals in the near future who are culturally rich and socially responsible. One of Prime Bank Foundation’s core strategic goals has always been to make education accessible to the target population and we are successfully doing exactly that. Investing in the future of the next generation is perhaps the best initiative imaginable and PBF will continue marching forward to do just that. Many other similar education institutes do exist, however what sets us apart is the compulsory training that each
and every teacher must undergo in interactive teaching methods. We also do not support any lateral entry of students because we believe they must begin their elementary level with us in order to mould their learning habits. I prefer to let the yearbook speak for itself and inform you about our students, teachers, their abilities and the overall achievements of our school. It is with great pride that I mention the first yearbook of PBEMS. I have high expectations from the new generation of entrepreneurs and professionals who will emerge in the near future as alumni of PBEMS. PBEMS alumni will have much to contribute to the world around them. I look forward to seeing their accomplishments and seeing how their achievements also improve the lives of others. If you have any queries or concerns regarding your child's progress or welfare, please remember that our school staff are available to help. All our staff are friendly, welcoming and approachable. If you are the parent of a prospective pupil then you may find a visit to the school useful. This is an opportunity for you to see the school at work, and find out more about how we provide a high quality education for all of our children. We practice the ethics of love and compassion towards all and are committed to the spiritual and ethical development of the PBEMS students. Cordially, Md. Nader Khan Chairman Prime Bank Foundation

PBF CEO’s Message
Prime Bank English Medium School (PBEMS), one of the ambitious projects of Prime Bank Foundation is now in its 7th year and has been steadily gaining recognition for its uniqueness. English has become the main language of communication, business and higher education throughout the world, therefore it is high time to cultivate the language amongst the young generation with the aim of preparing them for the competitive global market. That is one of the main reasons behind supporting an English medium school. Education is one of the main pillars of the society and promoting quality English-medium education to the masses at an affordable price is the core principle of PBEMS. Our school caters to families belonging to every strata of the society and does not differentiate between them. PBEMS’s doors are also always open for underprivileged and physically challenged children alike. Our school aims to cultivate social and cultural awareness among the students by celebrating our rich history and culturally significant days. We make it our
priority to instill knowledge about our country, mother language and society, despite being an English medium school. Music and sports are given equal priority along with the other subjects to ensure that our students receive a wholesome education. Children are like young plants, they need to be nurtured with care, love and discipline so that they may bloom and grow to be strong, productive people. We hope to provide that care, and seeing the expansion in the members of the PBEMS family, I am proud to say that we are on the right track. Sincerely Yours, Dr. Iqbal Anwar Chief Executive Officer Prime Bank Foundation

PBEMS Principal’s Message
In July 2011, after six months volunteer work in Bangladesh, I left the country with a heavy heart. I was concerned that I would not be back to advocate the interactive method of learning I knew was effective. It was my desire to come back to Bangladesh simply because my valuable experience as teacher, trainer, and school administrator, inspired me to be more involved in educating young Bangladeshis. I am grateful to the Almighty, for giving me another chance to return as Principal of PBEMS, a school committed to providing quality education and values formation. I am inspired to journey with each student to help fully develop his or her social, intellectual, and moral capabilities and become a lifelong learner, productive citizen, and fulfilled human being. My dream of quality education that is accessible to all, regardless of economic status, is aligned with Prime Bank English Medium School’s mission-vision. The primary aim of PBEMS is to offer quality education for all with international standards and interactive pedagogy – the same educational system that I had in the Philippines during my elementary and high school years, university life in Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, and further studies in the field of Education. My
work in Family Life & Child Development and Guidance & Counseling and my studies in Pastoral Care & Youth Ministry in the United States; and my further studies in Management & Development of Non-Government Organization in Israel, further proved its value. An interactive method of teaching is also what I used when I was teaching in the Philippines, USA and Cambodia and was proven to be highly effective. I am glad to continue my mission in Bangladesh by effecting interactive method of education at PBEMS. This first yearbook of PBEMS features the school activities that were truly interactive and prove the sincerity of the school in offering quality education. I hope that this method of teaching may not only produce students who are academically bright, but also morally upright and law abiding citizens of the country. I enjoin each one in helping these dreams become a reality in PBEMS. May this yearbook help each student to reminisce on their positive and uplifting school life and guide them to value and share what they have learned with others. Blas Ofelie S. Descallar Principal PBEMS
