SEMESTER 01 DA VINCI DREAM MACHINES - DISTANT YET CONNECTED The semester started with objectory and factory which was identifying small minute details of the objects. Importance of each component its manufacturing and the purpose to it. Further an opportunity to identify various projects having same context of the three roles. Detailed study of it lead to the development of an argument. The academic session was is mainly focused on developing an argument followed by an interior technique in different set of roles.Putting that same technique into these different projects historical era, standardization & collaborative by using Da Vinci Dream Machines and executing an exhibit area as an interior designer.
SEMESTER 02 UNFOLDING SERIES OF PERFORMANCES -A SENSORIAL EXPERIENCE Originating from the Indian sub context, step wells are wells or ponds in which the water is reach by descending a set of steps. With time we have started to forget these places and once for all they all will be diminished. The concept was to relive these spaces in a modern way keeping the concept intact and developing it further. As the proposal it is best suited to portray and appreciate the art, culture and water in the space. This can be achieved by making it into a Performing Arts Centre distributing it into 3 major aspects: Human interaction – Haptics, Performances, Sensorial zones related to water. All 3 aspects weaved together in one thread to increase the experience of the space. Interactive performance spaces celebrating water and steps along with modern touch of technology through dance, musicals, and light water musical shows – Unfolding the series of performances in space.
SEMESTER 03 KINETIC FAÇADE SYSTEM The studio intent on which all the 3 exercises were based upon form finding and system development through set of experiments trying to achieve global curvature. The proposed design responsive kinetic façade based upon a process of combining physical prototyping, and parametric design tools to evaluate the performance of the same on the facade system. It presents the possibility of components to respond to environmental conditions and changing state of facades. In this project, a kinetic façade opening and closing mechanism is explored and developed for an office space in Dubai. Inspired from auxetics which was further explored to achieve a desired dynamic movement for the façade. The selected location and building demanded a system development to optimize the interior conditions according to the time of the day during office hours, like controlled daylight and radiation, and these factors were approached and studied using appropriate software. The analysis helped us to create an elegant yet smart and performative façade system which improves the thermal performance and efficiency of a building.
SEMESTER 04 REPERTWAHR - CAFE BOUTIQUE The site was built for the performances related to dance musical & theatre, used to promote the concept of cultural advancement. But because of COVID the site has a serious hit, the site shut down and was abandoned. Hence the proposal for the site seems to be one which compliments the site and the surroundings well to hold the crowd.Theatre and Cafe culture - an extension model - To generate maximum revenue - To increase footfall as FnB helps to increase the involvement. Retail -Boutique integrating with a personal experience - To increase maximum public engagement and interactive spaces. - To involve maximum people of different age groups. Workshop space - express yourself through design - To promote a learning environment, skill set when it comes to designing. - To give a platform for different designer.
