CONCEPTUAL STATEMENT

CONCEPTUAL IDEATION

BLOCK DIAGRAM Cocoon, the “TIME TO CHANGE” from caterpillar to a butterfly; from the small space to an open one, is my concept applied throughout the design of this wellness center. It is the change in space volumes from enclosed to large and open spaces. It is also the idea of creating the private and closed spaces (the cocoon itself). Moreover, having the sense of natural material surroundings of the cocoon through the use of natural materials and neutral colors. My concept can be also applied literally through the change in the state of a cocoon into a beautiful colorful butterfly “The Time of Change”. Students who enter such space mainly suffer from mental illness or stress and from here the change occurs in their health condition into a more healthier people which imitate the lifecycle of the butterfly.

PLANNING BASED ON CONCEPT IMAGE

BUBBLE DIAGRAM PLANNING

When designing a space, we think how can we relate it to the surrounding, and how can we add life value in it through Identifying the people who are using this space. Urban arts center, a learning center for youth, helps youth to be creative and improve their art skills, it is all about (“ART”) and from here comes my concept (“GRAFFITI”). Graffiti is one type of art, although it is considered disordered in some cases, but yet having pleasant and attractive look if applied in an organized way! Yes the meaning behind all this graffiti is creating ORDER WITHIN DISORDER.

LIVE THE BEATS .. and its representation of the MUSIC EQUALIZER BARS and the ENERGY it speaks out.. just as the vision logo which RADIATES all of these colors and it’s state of changing and being non stable. Thats my space: the ENERGETIC, PLAYFUL, and CHANGING one . The space planning is based on the vision logo. It immitates the logo through the use of the circular radiating theme and the application of both the curvilinear and geometric shapes to create a more playful space.

CONCEPT STATEMENT

We all like to look our best. Through cosmetics women feel good. Makeup re-invest the external women. It makes beauty to every women unique. All these gorgeaous and dazzling array of colors in cute and lovely packaging are inspirational and sophisticated enough to create this endurance and fabulous finish. The design of sephora store starts with the makeup itself. From the quote of Ralph “the beautiful we carry with us” starts my my concept of “on the go lifestyle”. My main idea behind this is create a design that goes with today’s lifestyle “the on the go experience”.

CONCEPT IDEATION

GONDOLAS TYPE A

Since my idea has started with the makeup itself. It is clear that all make-up packages are being made in a way that suits today’s lifestyle. Looking at the design of these cosmetics sets, it has been made in an ordered manner but has this variety within it. Felix Mendelssohn say “the essence of beautiful is unity within variet. Bootom line my concept is creating “Variety within unity” in a way that suits the “on he go lifestyle” which is taken from the make-up sets and pallettes which express the true meaning of variety within unity in a way that shows the beauty aspect of the design.

FASHION BOUTIQUE HOTEL

HOSPITALITY PROJECT

DATE: APRIL 2014 AREA : 15,000 SQ FT LOCATION:BERKELEY CASTLE , BERKELEY STREET, TORONTO, CANADA MEDIA: AUTOCAD | SKETCHUP | VRAY | PHOTOSHOP | ILLUSTRATOR A place to eat, live and sleep with style. The main purpose of this hotel is to create the experience of luxury living to guests. It will be a place where the guests choose to live the brand for a few days; in other words they will be choosing to stay in a guest room that speaks the style of particular fashion designer. Also, as part of the hotel main functions, is to have this environment that embraces the local art and artist through the art and fashion show events throughout the year. In the meanwhile, art performance can be held at days when no fashion shows take place as a way to engage the society with arts and design. Also, there will be a restaurant that will offer three different experiences throughout its design one as a classic formal dinning space, the second as a more intimate casual area and a cocktail lounge area with a bar. This will provide different options for the guests, public and business entrepreneurs to dine according to their preferences. As a supplementary required function space, there will be a business lounge for the hotel guests. The business lounge will be a combination between a lounge space, an office and yet giving the feeling of being at home. It will provide the guests with all the qualitative services needed.
