About us
For more than 10 years, Oum Bhumichitra has been the art director of art4d magazine, a renown architecture, art and design publication in Thailand. His expertise is in graphic design, especially design for printed media. He also has worked on a wide variety of projects, from launching new mobile phones with special promotion printed media, to designing Bangkok Fashion City’s premium publication, from designing a law firm’s corporate identity to making the environmental graphics of a trendy spa. Other than doing graphic design, he is a contributor and interviewer for art4d, Wallpaper* Thailand, and TCDC’s Creative Thailand Magazine. By doing research for his written work, Oum has been able to explore different ways of looking at information, which strengthens his design skills thanks to his broadened way of understanding design content, going beyond the scope of just graphic design.

OVERVIEW We designed and created the identity for a take away herbal juice shop called AMA JUICE. The concept aimed to use a character of AMA (Grandmother in Chinese) represent the brand. We collaborated with the client in making the graphic elements of the shop such as the logo, takeaway plastic cup and staff uniform.

Each hotel and resort features a signature restaurant highlighting the best of the destination’s cuisine. The Anantara Bar Manual is edited and produced by Shake & Bake Studio in collaboration with Diageo Thailand. The bar manual provide practical advice for standard bar operating such as the ingredients, tools and glasswares, techniques, responsible serving and more.

OVERVIEW We initiated design direction for a special issue “After the Flood� of art4d magazine, the leading bi-lingual architecture and art magazine in Thailand. The idea of this issue is to reflect the creative solutions for living in unexpectedly massive flooding in Thailand. To complete this special issue, we had exclusively set a new colour scheme and a modernist graphic element style representing the mass of water.

OVERVIEW Bangkok Design Festival is the only festival of it’s kind in Bangkok. Launched in October 2007, each year’s program includes exhibitions from both local and international designers together with workshops and lectures by renown designers, held in the hippest and coolest spot all over the city. OVERVIEW Bangkok Fashion Now & Tomorrow is a fashion publication series made by the Bangkok Fashion City Project under the Thai Ministry of Industry. The goal of the publication project is to give international exposure to top Thai fashion designers. It comprises 6 volumes covering various sectors of the Fashion Industry, which are Scream (haute couture), Street (ready-to-wear) Stone (jewellery), Spun (textiles), Skin (leather fashion) and Speed (young designers). OVERVIEW Since 2005 art4d magazine has annually curated and produced Designer’s Saturday, an event of lectures and workshops by internationally well-known product designers, graphic designers, architects and other industry professionals. Designer’s Saturday boasts illustrious guest speakers such as Vince Frost, Javin Mo, Jamie Fobert, Kenya Hara, Sam Hecth and many others. We were commissioned to take care of the event’s branding, logotypes, posters, catalogues and various merchandise such as t-shirts, tote bags and drinking water packaging.

02 Poster AMANDA LEVETE is the partner with Jan Kaplicky at Future Systems, the world famous London-based studio. After studying at the Architectural Association and working at the offices of Will Alsop and Richard Rogers, in 1989 Amanda Levete joined Jan Kaplicky at Future Systems. The buildings they have since realized have been award winning and seminal in their influence, including the Haur King House, the Floating Bridge in the docklands, the Media Centre at Lord’s cricket ground, which received the Stirling prize in 1999, and the extraordinary building for Selfridges in Birmingham. Current work includes a city academy in London, a museum for Maserati in Italy, apartments in Copenhagen, a bridge in Dublin, and a www.future-systems.com furniture collection for Established and Sons. ASTRID KLEIN graduated with a First Class Bachelor of Arts Degree in interior design from Ecole des Arts Decoratifs, Strasbourg, France, and received Master of Arts Degree in architecture from Royal College of Art, London, in 1988. After her graduation Klein headed to Japan with Mark Dytham to explore the world and had a chance to work with Toyo Ito. Klein and Dytham then received a commission to design a small imported furniture showroom in Tokyo called Idee Station. Their first project in Japan is well received and is widely published in many architecture and design publications. In 1991 Klein and Mark Dytham established KDa, Klein Dytham architecture, and they have been working in Tokyo for 15 years now. KDa’s works are fresh and always full of surprises. Among their well-known works are Leaf Chapel, i-fly Virgin Wonderwall, Bloomberg ICE, the interior for Beacon Communications advertising agency, Undercover Lab and a flagship store for Uniqlo in Ginza. www.klein-dytham.com

OVERVIEW Helvetica Film in Bangkok 50 has been one of the most successful events in the first edition of the Bangkok design festival in 2007. In program was a screening of the film, directed by Gary Hustwit, talk with world-famous graphic designers such as Stefan Sagmeister and an exhibition of artworks inspired by the Helvetica typeface. Our direction for the design of the event was to make it as simple as possible, for it to be accessible and attractive to anyone, not only graphic designers.

INDIGO PEARL COLLECTION PHUKET, 2008 Packaging
OVERVIEW Indigo Pearl Phuket, is a luxurious boutique resort in Phuket that boasts unique design and setting. To complement guest’s experience of the resort, the Indigo Pearl team came up with the idea of launching their own CD compilation, with tracks selected by famous Thai Djs. The project is called “Indigo Pearl : a Collection” and MINIbig was invited to design the packaging for the compilation. We designed the CD and the sleeve cover, in a way that they are evocative of both the music in the compilation and of the identity of the resort itself.

OVERVIEW Kooon is one of the restaurants that belongs to indies’ KITCHEN family. It’s their naughty boy, the rebel, the cool kid that everyone loves. It’s Thailand’s first restaurant to let the customer control the ordering process by using iPads. Kooon serves guests gourmet Thai street food together with uniquely designed cocktails, in a well studied environment to provide maximum comfort as well as ultra-modern aesthetics. Shake & Bake not only designed the concept, but took care of Kooon’s corporate identity from start to finish, including the iPad interactive menu, environmental signage, staff uniforms and promotional materials.

OVERVIEW Kwang Song is an official matchday programme of Chiangrai United, one of the biggest football club in northern of Thailand. Shake & Bake developed a comprehensive brand identity, including name, logotype, colour palette, editorial and layout design for matchday programme. Kwang Song is edited and produced by Shake & Bake in collaboration with Zerotwo Studio and Kero 122 the football guru. OVERVIEW We collaborated with Graphics 49 Limited were responsible for environmental graphics design in Mega Cineplex, the latest cinema and entertainment complex of Major Cineplex Group. Following the pixel and digital life concept, we designed the series of graphics including signage, pictogram, way finding, cinema sign, ice skating graphics, Karaoke graphics and custom equipments for this venue.

OVERVIEW Met 107 FM, the radio station by MCOT, needed a new corporate identity, as they felt that they wanted to better fit in with their target audience. We were called for the task, and together with Wee Viraporn from Conscious design studio, we created a new brand architecture that gave a new fresh identity to Met 107 FM. We also designed corporate stationery, the press kit, and a special logotype that offers various possibilities for adapting to special events or occasions.

OVERVIEW Nanglen is a band composed of professional musicians who are the secret behind the success of Thailand’s most popular songs. These successful producers, composers and lyricists got together in 2011 to finally perform their music themselves. We created a complete identity program including skillfully crafting the logotype, selecting the typeface and designing the promotional poster and CD packaging.

OVERVIEW Pekko 007 is a newly launched security service which offers alternative security methods in Thailand. We initiated the concept of “We are watching and preparing”, and then created a seven-eye logo inspired by the company’s name and CCTV lens as their corporate identity. We also added special gimmick to the seven-eye logo by transforming it to corporate mascot called “Mister Pekko”.

OVERVIEW Founded in 2004, Superlover is the product of the union of various design professionals from Bangkok and Milan, uniting editors, graphic designers, architects and interactive designers who enjoy working on special projects, such as designing the annual exhibition of The Association of Siamese Architects (ASA) in 2004. MINIbig provided Superlover it’s logotype, business cards, letterhead and promotional materials. In 2007 we designed a limited edition series of t-shirts following the concept of being a “superlover”, that featured quirky catchphrases like “Contemporary Lover” , “Hate Me, Love My Work” and “Love is More”.

OVERVIEW Superbar is the food and beverage extension of Superlover. It’s a mini café situated at the ground floor of Superlover’s headquarters, and We collaborated with the client in making the graphic elements of the café such as the logo, business cards, menu and delivery labels. Different categories of food and beverage are classified with different colors, creating a playful and modern palette.

OVERVIEW worked as a travel editor of Wallpaper* Thailand and a writer of art4d magazine and Monocle magazine. After working over 10 years in magazine industries, she requested us to customize her logo. We created her personalized logo based on the first letter of her name. Moreover we designed the colour scheme, pattern and stationery in order to compliment her logo.

OVERVIEW As the highlighted composition of product is pomegranate, known in Thai as Tub Tim, a uniquely brand new refreshing towel is named tubbtimm. A pomegranate originally comes from China so the packaging design was inspired by traditional Chinese decoration.

OVERVIEW UNMET NEED, the latest exhibition hosted by TCDC, reveals the design theory behind the ingenious products and services that have become part of everyday life. To promote the exhibition, we had closely worked with the exhibition curator to create typographic wall showing the quotes of world-famous designers such as Dieter Rams, Johnathan Ive, Masimo Vignelli. All quotes had been designed in various styles and had been presented in different areas over TCDC library.
