Tutors: Joseph Augustin, Christopher Burman and Luke Jones

This project creates a bathing space to relax the soul, body and mind, applying traditional techniques of water therapy. The design draws inspiration from the fenlands of Cambridgeshire. An area prone to heavy rainfall and reservoir flooding. For this reason, the bath house is designed to be flood-resilient and sits on bamboo stilts to withstand the harsh weather conditions. Prefabricated, reclaimed and recycled building materials are used throughout the buildings on site.

The design plan comprises of a village of cabins connected to a main spa and wellness centre and thermal space. The village acts as a retreat from urban life and offers a space for healing and reflection.
