pigment
pigment Pigment pairs a selection of Ireland’s top photographers with prominent tattoo artists to showcase the tattoo art form through contemporary photography. Tattoo art has become popular in our culture in recent years. While the industry prospers due to media coverage, the work of the real tattoo artists has been overlooked. There is a select group of artists working around the world that approach the skin as a canvas and produce custom pieces that would not be out of place in a fine art gallery. Pigment aims to break down the preconceived ideas of tattoo art, the artists behind the industry and the clients who fuel it. For Pigment we have approached some of Ireland’s most talented photographers and asked them to create images that best represent this art form through their eyes. Pigment is run and curated by Shane Guerrini, Creative Director of Dublin Ink, Ireland’s premier tattoo studio and Shane O Driscoll, designer, artist and Co-Director of For The Love Of (FTLO), a platform for emerging and established creatives.
